šŸ”„ 2024-2025 Transfer Portal Wishlist

It appears the rest of the UVA fan base has caught on to our need to flip Markus Burton and Tobi Lawal. Thank you all for spreading the word. We are doing God’s work  :palms_up_together:

Haha awesome. You need a ticket?

I got work. But your get together is right around the time Byington and Vanderbilt host Kentucky so it better be on the TV’s at Ralphs as you guys scout and get the money together for the buyout

Tried to make the most of a sick day being ā€œproductiveā€. Found a few more potential adds to the list (based on realistic chance of entering the portal, and being someone UVA would consider even without knowing the coach).

I also wanted to add Bennett Stirtz but I don’t think he’s ever going to play for a non-Ben McCollum coached team.

Stud freshman at Howard already has a triple double to his name and is averaging 18 pts a game. DC kid (Gonzaga HS) so Ill add him to the actual list.

German at Oregon St with 1-2 years left (good floor spacing big and mobile but not that bouncy). If we keep Wilkins he might have a connection here

New Jersey center at GW who is a really good rebounder and rim protector. All inside game

This is a kid we actually looked at out of HS and I thought he would be the next DeAndre Hunter. Didn’t do much at Indiana (could be a Woodson issue though lol) but is having a rebirth at Tulane. From Atlanta

SDSU coach is on the surprise retirement watch. This kid has to be one of the most improved in college basketball. Would need someone on staff with west coast connections. If we keep Saunders, maybe he helps convince him to come east.

Nick Dorin is the younger brother of former NC State players Torin Dorin. Good size and good catch and shoot guy on heavy volume. Solid athlete but a little one dimensional offensively.

Australian. Stretch 5 type with 3-4 years left. And a good rim protector. (Follows Taine and Stattmann on social media. Also seems to be a Justin McKoy connection)

I also appreciate how some kids already have mixtapes out to market themselves for the portal… this sport is so cooked. Damn you NCAA

I’ve been a big fan of Miles Byrd.

Jaland Lowe portal smoke.

Pretty sure if he does portal though he just ends up back in Texas somewhere/recall @HoozGotNext mentioning Lowe’s dad is a big presence in the Texas HS basketball world when Tony B was watching a few of his game.

Also if anyone wants to shit on Evan Miya and stat nerds, they currently have Cade Tyson as the 231st best player in the country and third best on UNC… I don’t think his play this year would earn him minutes on Greenbay

He has good on-off, I assume that’s why. But he doesn’t play anymore so that’s kind of the limit of on-off

His on/off is not nearly as good in top 100 games, but it’s hard to find those in the ACC to be fair.

Cade Tyson has the full green light from @DavetheWave. 35+ mpg

I think they heard LRA would be in the house.

I don’t have the math to prove it, but my intuition is that on-off is prone to selection effects for deeper rotation guys. If you only get in the game when things are going well and get pulled if there’s any turbulence, your on-off will look better than the starter who is in there regardless of whether things are going well or not.

I know a place where a rebirth could be possible (with low odds of us adding a Sion James or Kon Knueppel popping off)

The announcers today during the Vandy game said Byington in the portal is looking for kids from top 100 NET programs who feel as though they have something to prove or feel like they need a chance to show something.

Heh…isn’t that exactly what we did this most recent offseason too? All high major types who were looking for a bigger/different role. I guess FSU was probably outside of the top-100 last season.

Yeah but they also got that tyler tanner freshman pg

To be clear, I don’t think it was a bad approach as a talent play.

I think same approach but also averaged 9ppg at their old spot.

I do like the Saunders add though and he could be a beast stretch 4 in a good system

(Vanderbilt radio guy who is also a 247 contributer had Barnette on his podcast recently)
