Unless there’s been recent changes, a school can refuse to release a recruit. But it almost never happens anymore. App State tried holding up Davonte Graham (2014 class) and got absolutely creamed by the media for it. Eventually was forced into it.

There was a case just a year or two ago with another mid major, can’t remember which…Jeff Goodman went on a crusade over it, they eventually caved.

Gotcha. Will say, it would absolutely be some real Dook shit to refuse his release. I’m sure they’d oblige eventually though.

Been a long time, but Gillen didn’t let Williams and Hall out of their NLI’s.

The boat on that has long sailed my friend. No one needs that kind of headache. Besides college sports is a ā€œmovable feastā€ there is always more dishes on the menu. Even for the likes of KK.

Especially with the obvious over recruitment!

It will be almost immediately. Would bet it.

Different climate and different NCAA!

If i remember correctly Caleb Love when he left UNC went to Michigan first and couldn’t get in. Worked out well for him but i bet Michigan was sick. Must be tough to get in there

Negative or positive?

Bet she didn’t know that Brea had lined up a visit.

Not saying he will try to leave, but they’re going directly after his spot.

He was in good shape with McCain leaving. None of the other departures would have affected him — Blakes, Schutt, Stewart, Mitchell, Roach — but Brea would.

I didn’t suggest it CAN’T work, just questioned whether it is the best road to success. I think a good core supplemented with a few transfers is the best route. Just my opinion, but I would wager if we look at a statistically representative sample the all-in transfer strategy would likely fail on the average.

Alabama may be an outlier. And so may Arkansas. What happens on average? And what is the best overall strategy that is sustainable?
