If Rohde comes back I wonder if we can get Gibson Jimerson to walk on and his tuition gets paid with NIL on top of however much his market value is.
Also I do hate not having the roster flexibility (with the addition of Sharma) to get a high level decommit like Trent Perry or Christian Anderson Jr. No more low ceiling one dimensional late fliers please.
There will always be decommits or high level unicorn mid major freshmen that could redshirt
Is this even allowed? Taking a former scholarship player at another school as a walk on?
I donât see why not. All of this is new so I donât think there are rules against it yet.
Why do you keep throwing Sharma into the late bad add bucket?? Heâs considered the best shooter in high school in Canada - has played high level prep school teams, has positional size and strength and high release point.
Because he is one dimensional and hasnât shown anything else in his skillset that will translate to college in his first two years of college.
That and the importance of having guards who can create off the bounce in March madness. Sharma will be a part of the âstand around and pass the ball on the perimeterâ crowd as we go on our patented 5 minute scoring droughts.
Would rather add kids who can shoot but also create and drive.
Also itâs pretty clear we went on Sharma late because we spent the entire recruiting season tailing Kon
There have been rules against scholarship athletes becoming walkons at the same school
forever lol unless there is an explicit rule allowing transfers to do it at the new school you pretty much have to assume itâs not allowed
Idk I think we are in wild wild west and if you lawyer up anything is possible since the NCAA has no backbone
Doubt it. Circumventing scholarship limits is school vs school rather than NCAA vs ârights every other student has that the NCAA was allowed to force athletes to forgo for no sound legal reason other than no one bothered to challenge itâ
Who would enforce that though? St Louis? And is it different if itâs a grad transfer?
The NCAA would enforce it lol there has been nothing in the NIL nor portal cases that challenges the idea the NCAA can set scholarship limits. And the school that tried to circumvent them wouldnât get the same general public and state AG support those causes have if they tried to bring it to court to challenge that authority
Now if the SEC and B1G decide they are over scholarship limits then things might change
Interesting that the people who donât like the Sharma addition (I have no opinion at the moment) feel that he is one dimensional. That as of now all he can do is stand in the corner and hit an open 3 when no one is paying attention to him. Seems like that describes Jabri, Morsell during his first two years at NCST and Traudt and Power when they happen to get in to get in a game.
Having watched a few of the FEIA streams, I donât think he shows anything attacking the rim at all. He looks really rough when trying to driving to the rim and finish in the pain.
He reminds me of a smaller Jacob Groves. Faster release/quicker to run off screens and hopefully the confidence to be less hesitant.
I am not being fastidious no
I would love Mal back for 1 year in this specific role
Look at his last 10 or so games this season. He went off. Had some issues in mid part of season he had to get through (injury/sickness I think)
Where have I heard this before
Only i actually followed Mal Fine. Look at his first 10 games as well
I found this (via someone in the discord where I asked). Someone also said NIL can be used to cover tuition but they wouldnât be eligible for a year. No idea how to verify that
We talking last year over the Harris and Rohde disaster? Because I agree couldnât have been much worse so heâd probably have been an upgrade. But if we are talking next year thatâs crazy talk clouded by liking him as a person lol no way. Weâd be so much better off running Bliss and Gertrude/IMac together as the backup PGs than a guy scoring single digits on sub 40% in the MVC
Brining back Malachi and Igor make sense. Theyâre ready for the packline!
