Chandler isn’t staying if he gets approved.

If I’m being honest I’m not sure Chandler starts if he stays either. But that could be really messy for team chemistry…

He can’t go anywhere else. Never entered name into portal.

Agree about chemistry.

Yea I mean from his POV you might as well try. I’m not optimistic about his chances though. I think Chambliss had more of a legit medical thing and didn’t play any games, Morris played multiple

Buddy on the OL relayed the guys want Chandler 100% if he comes back….

Yeah kind of figured that would be the case. And can you blame them? Just seems like it could be a tricky line to walk…

  1. I don’t think this is gonna work for Chandler
  2. I don’t think he’s going to play for us if it does
  3. It’s sort of an optics/locker room/functional nightmare for us that this is dragging out like this, but I don’t blame him.
  4. I hope everyone behind the scenes is communicating with each other clearly about the potential outcomes from this. I expect they are, but I hope it’s just us who are kind of confused, not anyone more personally affected.

Just said this above, he can’t play for anyone else, he never entered the portal and is still taking classes here.

That seems like the way easier lawsuit of the 2 if he wins the first.

Someone is going to try to legally break the new portaling date rules this spring, might as well be Chandler.

You can bet Pribula will try to if Chandler does come back.

I’d imagine his attorney will put in some verbiage to allow him transfer if approved.

He’s staying at UVA if it gets approved

Yeah I think Clem.

Agree, not sure why people find that so hard to accept. According to Mikeysurf that is the plan, and Pribulla is/was aware this was a possibility, not to mention his legal team has a lot of UVA ties.

Ok, so I get that Morris never entered the portal, but help me understand this scenario:

If Morris wins his lawsuit, then where is the money to pay him coming from? Did UVa earmark part of its House/NIL money as a ā€œjust-in-case-Chandler-wins-a-longshot-lawsuit-fundā€? If so, that’s malpractice. Is there a mystery booster who has $1-$1.5 million that he or she is holding onto and will only donate if Chandler Morris wins his lawsuit? If so, that’s kind of weird.

That’s the part of this I don’t understand. I get why Morris wants to get another year of eligibility because at the NFL level his best case scenario is to be a training camp invitee. But Virginia constructed its roster and spent its player budget under the assumption that Morris is gone. If he’s suing for another year, then he must be looking to play elsewhere, right?

Would you rather next year?

O

2 things. Below is Mikey’s answer on where th money may come from. Plenty of non rev share options. Also, UVA released jersey numbers yesterday, go look at the roster and see what offensive number is not yet allocated….

==============================

Money doesn’t seem to be a concern. UVA hasn’t made a big deal about it, but Athletics has raised over $120M for NIL/rev share/scholarships/endowned funds for Olympic sports and money is still coming in.

And here we are worried about following up a really good first year with Ryan Odom and going back to being poor. I’m not worried about money at all. Future is bright in both revenue sports
