šŸˆ 2025/26 Football Offseason Recruiting and Transfers

I asked this on 247 and no one answered guessing the answer is zippo. Name an FCS QB that transferred to a P4 and had an impact last season?

If Bettridge isn’t taking his waiver, this STAB senior would be good competition along with rising second year Jorge Diaz Nicolas to take over the role. #26 kicker with Kohls.

The Ole Miss QB Chambliss was a D2 transfer.

There was only one starter in P4 who transferred up this year — Gronowski at Iowa. He was a mixed bag. There were some success stories at G5 (Western Kentucky and Tulsa, for example)

OU’s third-string QB transferred last summer from Mercer.

You could argue ā€œmixed bagā€ as a QB at Iowa is borderline Heisman caliber.

Any bag for an Iowa qb is a win

The second I stopped paying attention to it, STAB football apparently became genuinely good this year.

Eh I like watching endless college football on New Year’s weekend, great tradition.

I used to when those games mattered but you have to admit its not the same as it was 20 yrs ago.

Plus condense the schedule and it’ll help clear up the portal issues.

I’d also be good with making week 0 week 1 for everyone

A bunch of intriguing names at QB entered the portal today.

  • DJ Lagway, Florida
  • Brendan Sorsby, Cincinnati
  • Dylan Raiola, Nebraska
  • Aidan Chiles, Michigan State
  • Katin Houser, East Carolina

First three probably go to powerhouses, or in Sorsby’s case the NFL draft. Houser has been linked to Ole Miss. I’ve seen multiple places including JF on 247 link us to Chiles and to be honest I don’t know how to feel about that, the consensus on him has been pretty bad.

Chiles wouldn’t excite me, but you could talk me into him.

Chiles is definitely not without risk. On the one hand his upside is as high as anyone’s. He has all the tools you’d want in a QB and is a legit threat with his legs too which we all would agree is preferred in Des’ offense. But on the other hand, MSU fans have complained that he’s a one read QB and is prone to panicking in the pocket. How much of that you can chalk up to their horrible OL but I don’t love how his numbers got worse as the season wore on.

Chiles got benched eight games into this season in favor of a freshman QB. That’s a major red flag to me for a guy who was very highly touted out of HS and in his third year of a system, you can see the talent in glimpses but idk just gives me DJU vibes.

I like Chiles. I’ve seen those glimpses and MSU was a terrible situation. He just feels a little to risky for me for this program in this moment. Which means if he comes to Virginia he’s Simms pt 2. But if he goes to anywhere else he’ll be on the Heisman ballot…

I wonder when word will come about Chandler??? I’d imagine Daniel would be pissed and look elsewhere possibly.
