🏈 2025/26 Football Offseason Recruiting and Transfers

I heard all season that Morris was the perfect QB for Tony’s system and now we want to go back to the well…Assuming high confidence of eligibility, should be a no brainer to run back Morris.

Brandon Armstrong was awful in this offense after being one of the top statistical QBs in the country. Colandrea developed into the MWC Offensive Player of the year.

Not trying to stir up debate - we can point to a lot of reasons why they were not successful under Tony - but we don’t adapt system to player, so Tony better go out and find someone with experience in his system.

That’s why I find this guy refreshing after we’ve tried to fit a square peg in a round hole a few times too many.

I don’t get the sense that Des and Tony are Xs and Os genius types who can just totally change schemes based on their personnel from season to season.

Wish he could have stayed healthy — could have been really good. That’s the theme so far with the transfers-out: oft-injured.

Players have to produce at a certain level if they’re being paid and have agents.

I imagine a reunion with Morris at Okie state is on the table, but there was a lot of speculation about him and Indiana super early in the year. A lot has changed since then though, so not sure if that’s still in the cards.

So young and so good though so he’ll have a bunch of options.

Elliott and staff want to start being taken more seriously as HS recruiters, then this is a recruitment win that would go a long way…

It makes me sick to my stomach that people would embrace this culture of tampering and poaching from other team

Then he should support employee status, unionization, collective bargaining and multi year player contracts.

I’m still not sure why exactly the NCAA, the conferences and the schools are so opposed. Is it still related to the fallacy of amateurism?

This would be a bit of a coup. He has a very legit OSU offer (offered in June, visited last month, they don’t have any committed RBs in this class or last class, granted they are involved with some big fish). His rating is a bit lower than his offer list but I think that’s exposure related as he lives in NYC.

I’m not sure they’re all that invested in being taken seriously as high school recruiters? Think we’re a live by the portal die by the portal team now.
