He’s a game manager. With potentially very good to great OL and RB rooms, you don’t need much more.

7-3 in his 10 GP at Mizzou. He has some talent but Big Game James didn’t exactly help his development curve.

I’m agnostic on him.

@JBHoo how you feel about this visit?

Actually think we can win with Pribula. Upside is still there and at worst he’s a proven P4 QB who has played better comp than he’ll play here.

Guerra apparently visited yesterday too. So add both and you give yourself options (basically hedge for Guerra). Wouldn’t be the worst outcome. I don’t think Morris is drastically better than Pribula imo

We’re getting a visit from Marcellus’ old EKU teammate today.

It’s funny because I remember when Virginia Tech fans were talking about him because it looked like he was going to be their top option, and they had fully talked themselves into Beau. That’s how I am because the alternative is just to see nothing but the downside and be miserable. I think he’s perfectly good enough with the weapons we’ll have to be successful here after digging more

Is oghoo34 running our athletic department or something?

I would love to have a Mendoza back there picking apart ACC defenses but I’d also be ok with just punching teams in the mouth with a very physical run game and picking spots in the pass game.

No, that’s Tugard, remember? He got Marcellus to return!

Might be worth keeping an eye on his socials.

I stand by what I said. If we can’t steal Lagway with more money (doubtful), go with the next highest upside guy. Pribula brings experience and has played against much harder competition than the ACC. If he sucks, we get to see what we have in our developmental guys behind a great o line.

I’ve advocated for UVa going to service academy style offense for years. I didn’t want this to be the way it happened but God works in mysterious ways.

If he breaks his leg, Breauken Fibula. I’m keeping that in my back pocket.

@Hoohoohoo typing about to pull receipts and rain on any positivity we are building :joy:

I mean he wouldn’t be my first choice but you could certainly do worse, which is about where we are with the timing of this visit right? Gotta think a lot of info has been processed since Thursday night and there’s a lot still to be decided.

As our QB I wouldn’t hate the move. Like @lodger96 said above he’s a game manager. And I think with the construction of this offense that’s all we really need to find success.

Yeah it feels like we handled this pretty well: took a big swing and then when it didn’t work we’re taking a high floor low ceiling option which works with our roster construction

This is quite the downgrade for Pribula… I’d have to imagine he regrets leaving Mizzou (if it was his decision).

I don’t love Pribula, he’s a very mediocre passer and decision maker, but I’m not seeing a ton of other great options out there available to us.

How good do we feel about Cole eventually being the guy? Should we also be investigating an underclassmen with more long term potential?

The receipts aren’t that bad.

If he’s a game manager then he needs to improve his INT percentage and overall decision making. That title is being floated because his passing numbers suck.

I think the reality is a game manager is probably best we can expect with our OC. QBs aren’t lining up to throw WR screens and slow developing TE crossing routes all year.

I think the roster is pretty solid. But 8-4ish, while still good by UVA standards, doesn’t feel very exciting.
