Itās January 2026 and people are still talking through the Duke Miles hypothetical. I mean, live life the way you want I guess, but this seems like the most pointless discussion ever had on this website. Dude was committed to us for like three seconds and never even stepped foot in Charlottesville. And that comes from somebody who loves pointless extended message board convos.
Iād rather chat about whether Kiheiās fifth year or Kody Stattmannās extended minutes were more responsible for destroying the Bennett era/college hoops/society writ large. Really anything else.
I made a joke that was so obviously making fun of how overplayed the Duke Miles chatter is - the conversation was over! - and then the response ended up being for a few folks to double down on Duke Miles talk.
This board is addicted. We canāt quit Duke Miles.
At the UNC game on January 24 we will be naming court, āDuke Miles Honorary Court of What Could Have Been.ā I canāt wait to witness it.
Very few teams go 40-0. Im having fun. The loses happened. We are still on track to make the NCAA tournament and we might even win a game. Life is good (outside you know the impending civilization collapse and climate catastrophy).
Are we perfect? Far from it. Downright dumb at times. But that means we have even more room to improve and grow and its already fun right now
UCLAās players are mostly putting up quite solid offensive numbers, but their total output is only fine, because 25% of their shots during 78% of their minutes are being taken by a guy hitting 9% of his 3s, 44% of his 2s, and 60% of his FTs.
The thing that has me most excited about this team is that I really donāt think weāve hit our ceiling yet. I think thereās a lot of room to get better, and I think we have enough talent to do something fun late in the season.
Some other recent UVA teams I think maxed out early in the season/mid season and then just stagnated while other squads with more talent improved and made runs late in the year. This year I think we can be one of those squads. Not sure itāll happen, but am hopeful.
