Gotta say, I don’t watch or follow baseball, but following this whole thing during CBB offseason has been interesting for sure.
Also after seeing so many kids CTB recruited end up at Duke, there is something very satisfying about seeing all these posts about Duke commits or transfers flipping to us (no, TJ Power didn’t count). I get that the circumstances are an obvious huge factor, but still feels good to nab good players and commits away from Duke and to the good guys.

Freshman LHP Henry Zatkowski has committed to the HOOS.
Made 21 appearances and 11 starts on the mound for Duke this past season. Went 5-2 with a 4.83 ERA, and had 58 K’s in 59.2 IP.

I’m curious - do folks think O’Connor expected more guys to follow him to MSU or is that about what he would have wanted? Obviously there’s still plenty of time too, but only 4 so far is maybe a little less than I would have expected.

Maybe our guys in the portal want to talk to the new coaching staff and get a feel how much they are wanted and how they would fit in. The coaching staff is juggling a lot of balls. Players and recruits from both teams. Plus the players in all the groups that may or may not turn pro.

Been told by a source I really trust on this that Tech, UVa and JMU relevant parties are very aware of this issue and would like change and to keep an eye on the first session after this upcoming election. Legislators have been made aware of the ask, but don’t want to do anything months before an election, but the House settlement and a post election calm will be a good time to work on some athletics policy.
There will almost certainly be some sort of athletics bill next year, and this change would arguably benefit Tech and JMU even more than us, so there is push from a few directions.
