šŸ€ ACC Tournament Finals: Virginia vs Duke, Saturday, 14 March 2026, 2030, ESPN

Just thinking about how special this season is. Sitting at 29-4 is ridic and no where near what I thought going in. We’ve only won 30 games five times in our hisory, and 3 of those finished with 30, one at 31, then of course the natty year. If we hit 30 this season it will be a rare thing indeed. I can’t understand how Odom didnt get ACC coach of the year with that performance, but maybe he’s got a shot at an even bigger prize. Appreciate!

It’s been an amazing season for Virginia. I can’t believe we only have 7 games left

:100:. Props to CRO and his team - for building this team and culture. Getting our guys to buy in and play as a team - not for their own stats. It is our superpower. Bodes well for the culture and momentum I hope he continues to build. The present and future burn bright.

Now let’s go kick Duke’s ass, and make a deep run in March Madness. A really deep run.

Focus on switching to keep someone up close on Evans at all times. Don’t worry about the roll - let Ugo/Johan stay in the lane and they can let Maliq Brown shoot all the 3’s he wants. He shoots 17% on the year. Just let TDR and Boozer go at it without help. Evans is the killer threat.

Also TDR can attack Boozer off the dribble from 15-20 ft out. He did it in Durham and drew a foul at least once. And TDR is the one guy who ain’t afraid of Duke’s physicality. Let him go at it early and set the tone for his teammates to man up. Also Boozer’s minutes are going to make his legs a little heavy on D.

Neutral floor, Duke’s injuries and short bench and heavy minutes so far, we’re not gonna get a better opportunity than now. Gotta play like we want it bad. A win would be huge for confidence against top teams heading into the NCAAT.

Haven’t had a chance to read all of these posts, but here is how I see tonight:

  1. Duke’s super power is defense. The ball has to have energy and move. We won’t win going 1:1. Odom last night, during a timeout, was pissed about our passing. Has to be crisp tonight
  2. Isiah Evans:Everyone talks about Boozer, but we cannot let him get going. I do not want to double Boozer. If anything, play off Boozer’s brother and make him beat us.
  3. Guard Play: This is where we lost the first game. Sam Lewis, Malik Thomas, and Jacari wet a combined 1-21 from the field and 1-16 from deep. That cannot happen

Duke is awesome. But I’ve wanted to play them since they smoked us. I think the guys will be ready. Ready for war. Let’s get this thing.

It feels like #2 is big. Take the gamble and let little Boozer beat us.

Yeah I feel like the trick (as far as there is one, there may not be) is to let everyone but Evans shoot it at will. Brown, Cayden, and Sarr are not deep threats.

Focus on limiting Evans from the perimeter and clogging the paint. Play them disrespectfully far off if you need to.

Cam Boozer may still drop 40, but they’re really limited from 3 right now. Exploit that!

Saw Grünloh is listed as a game time decision… was this the case last night? I don’t remember seeing availability reports yesterday.

Same as last night

Coach said in the postgame that he was playing through a lot of pain and unable to shoot, but that there’s nothing structurally wrong and he’s hopeful that an additional day will have him ready to go

Yep, called Johann a warrior and said he probably shouldn’t have even been playing last night

Not that it really matters but Carter Lang was in street clothes yesterday and didn’t come in with Odom/Roberts. Weird that he’s not on the injury report

Miami came into our House and bullied us. We eked out the win, but they beat us on the boards, bumped and shoved us throughout the game—including tons of dead-ball shoves and bumps.

We came out in the tournament and dominated them physically and mentally. We bullied them from start to finish, even at the beginning when our shots weren’t falling. By the end of the first half Miami was already beaten.

We went down into Durham and played scared. Other than TDR, we played like we didn’t belong on the court with Duke. I don’t expect our guys to play scared again. They’ve said as much. They’re gonna come out fighting and looking to impose their will on the game. Duke won’t be intimidated, but they’ll know they’re in a fight.

Virginia pulls off the upset, 67-62

Like you, but for no rationale reason, I feel good about tonight.

I will feel good about tonight when I see TDR not get in early foul trouble and I see someone hit a 3 point shot. If UVA shoots a good % from 3 like they are capable and the one person that can check Boozer on both ends of the floor stays out of foul trouble, I like our chances to wear them down and to put another trophy in the case!

I’ll just say it: whenever this board is confident we lose and whenever we aren’t, we win.
