Agreed; Brian Geisinger hit this pretty well in a postgame pod with one of the NC State-focused media people after the 2nd game:

He calls out:

  • De Ridder can handle Darrion Williams without any help
  • Multiple big perimeter guys to put on Copeland and take away his bully-ball drives
  • Drop coverage matches up well with NC State’s desire to get downhill on ball screens and has taken away Lubin’s roll finisher opportunities
  • Bench depth

NC State will come out swinging and likely hit us in the mouth. They’ll be more ready at tip bc they played today.

We’ll begin to pull away once we get our legs. They don’t match-up well with us. Confident this game will be close early and then we begin to pull away in the second half.

NC State has had our number in the ACC tournament. Today would be cool to reverse that fortune. Playing a team for the third time and them getting a day up of competitive ball to keep them sharp might lead to a closer 1st half than the past two games but we will see.
