I want the ACC to stick together, but if UNC makes the jump I feel like we need to, and Iām a little worried the admin is too small c conservative to actually do it. But the downside of being on the wrong side of a potential super league is probably big enough to justify whatever Saudi PE debt we would need to take on to get out of the GOR.

Weāll see, hard to get a read on the new Presās stance or the BOVās. Spanberger I trust will look out for us with no regard for VT, say what you will about her politics but both she and her husband LOVE UVA, wedding pictures in front of the rotunda. Carla, with her SEC background, I canāt imagine wouldnāt seize an opportunity to take UVA there. Itās just a matter if (a) the invite is there and (b) making sure Warner or Kaine donāt muck things up trying to make UVA and VT a package deal, similar to Warnerās work as governor to make UVA stand up for VTās ACC invite. But maybe the compromise is they get VT a Big XII invite at the same time, where VT would fit culturally very well I think, re-pair with WVU.

Iām leery of this actually getting through the Senate before EOD. And even if it does, the House wonāt take it up until they are back in session in September, and I donāt see a ton getting passed ahead of the mid-term.
Anything is possible, but the government is gonna government and I donāt think they get this done before the clock runs out.

Another concern about the SEC invite is that UNC is getting the cheating in early to prove they belong while we are not showing that kind of commitment.
If we have to leave the ACC, the B1G would be a much better fit, but we are in control of none of this.

A recent Athletic article disussed which schools would join the Big Two if the PCSA passed. Among other things, the PCSA would limit all conferences to 19 programs, meaning the B1G would have only one opening and the SEC would have three.
U.Va. is discussed as a possibility for both conferences, along with UNC, FSU, Clemson, and Miami. The author thinks Notre Dame will claim the final B1G slot, while UNC, U.Va., and Miami will join the SEC. The author thinks UNC and U.Va. will be selected because they are both flagship universities, have strong academics, and expand the SEC footprint while keeping the conference geographically contiguous.
Personally I canāt see the Domers giving up their football independence even for the B1G. Iām sure Clemson, FSU, and Hokie fans will all snort with derision at a prediction that we get selected over them, but thereās some logic to it.
In any case, this speculation is very likely moot, as I donāt see the PCSA passing this fall, and probably ever.

Some info on the politics of the college sports bill and who currently supports or opposes.
I think itāll have trouble getting through the Senate, but even if it does, I donāt think it has any chance of passing the House.
