This is something that continually pops in my head.
Still high on Blake a lot and liked what he has given us as a true freshman. But still unsure if he will be ready and his back up Robinson will be just as raw.
Thatās why my preference for a 4 is someone who can slide down to the 5 at times.
See, I think I value continuity over an uncertain transfer in BBās situation. Iām actually optimistic BB can be a solid contributor next year. Heās gonna get stronger, which will solve a lot of his issues, and if he really goes to work on developing some post moves and moves away from his tendency to try fallaway jumpers, he can be a force. Now, somehow if you can get an Eric Dixon, thatās one thing, but I feel like weāve got so much evidence that bigs just donāt play well without years in system, that why take a risk when you seem to have guys with potential already on the team. I know youāre talking about a 4 who can play some 5 so not exactly addressing your point.
At some point, you gotta actually let the 4-stars you recruit out of HS prove themselves. Getting into the habit of recruiting veteran transfers to ābuy your young 4-stars time to developā is a death spiral to killing the homegrown pipeline development and scares off future 4-stars from coming.
