It’s funny I was in a brewery waiting for a beer and watched this exact exchange live, the only part of the game I saw, and had the exact WTF reaction and looked for a Tar Heel fan to heckle. Sadly I didn’t find one.

The biggest “in the zone” I’ve seen in person was Richard Morgan going off for 39 against UNC in 1989. Crazy high-arcing rainbows, everything going in, and he knew it, so he was even pulling up for three on a fast break. Just an amazing thing to see.

Saw Bryant go into the zone multiple times. Is amazing on the court. His eyes were almost glazed over and the focus was unreal. Palpable even

Morgan against UNC, Stith against ND, and Joe H. against Duke are my 3 fav individual “heat check” performances.
2nd half against Syracuse in 2019 was “best group performance”.

Really rare to get a full game Zone Most times it is like a half or maybe 5-10 minute scenario
I had a college roommate get in the zone once. It was during finals week, he was on Adderall and hadn’t slept in 36 hours.
I’m sure it’s a similar feeling on the court.

The Hokies are letting us down. Well mostly Miami is really good right now.
If GT can pull off the stunner, then Pitt plays at Miami in the season finale. So, we’d still have that hope of getting the top seed with 4 losses.
