This is frankly unacceptable for a power conference. Simply can’t have 40% of the league outside of the top 100. And only Notre Dame has a realistic chance to improve to top 100.

Stupid question maybe but how does the ACC go about turning around the quality of the conference (let’s pretend conference realignment doesn’t exist).

I’d break it down into two questions: (1) how to get better and (2) how to make the metrics better.
#1 is a tough question, but I think the ACC could do more on #2. One obvious trend seems to be ACC teams (not us this year, but last year) taking some time to gel, as compared to the average. So play more conference games in Nov/Dec and more noncon games in Jan/Feb. That could help at least marginally.

Yep you and I have said it forever - 18 conf games and reserve a week in early Feb to play 2 non con games.

They are only 150 on KenPom so wouldn’t be inconceivable. If a book gave me +1000 on FSU making the season end NET top 100 I might throw $10.
That being said almost 300 is a long climb and they have to start actually winning some games lol

Nebraska just beat Creighton by double figures.
There’s a lot of work to do at BC - I was referring to their 2-5 year prognosis.

I assume Louisville and NC state could land someone pretty good!
I think if I was NC state I would look at the guy at JMU and Wes Miller. Obviously rivalry but maybe he wants to come back to the ACC

I got to believe Louisville gets back on their game and soon. Obviously everything is wrong with their basketball program and they just lost their football coach to Cincinnati. Have to imagine that donor base is itching to make a big splash hire and get the basketball team back to relevance.
The other programs @Hooandtrue listed may be in trouble.
Syracuse - totally comes down to who they hire. Following Boeheim is not going to be a fun task and it doesn’t look like he’s going to leave a lot to work with.
FSU - Hamilton has been a staple and kind of built something out of nothing. Their athletic department is in shambles financially and likely won’t get out of that situation soon and if they do, they surely will sink it into the football program first.
Notre Dame (probably. Rumors of Brey wanting out plus ND fans want change. Jamie Dixon Pitt situation) I feel like ND will land on their feet. The brand and the dollars will allow them to get a solid candidate and the recruiting base is kind of baked in there.
Pitt They’re done. Maybe a good mid-major hire who can establish an identity saves them, but at best they become a stepping stone similar to a BC
NC State - The more things change the more the stay the same.

Miami - They are done when Jim L. leaves he’s held that spot together with bubble gum and the crypto money is disappearing quickly hurting the chances of a splash big name. Plus football.
