That doesn’t look good for the ACC. I was hoping there’d be an opportunity for someone in the mid tier to get into contention, but the top tier already looks pretty mid. Which means fewer opportunites for good wins across the board. If you didn’t do much in noncon, it’s over.
Maybe I don’t understand NET as well as I thought I did, that NET rankings are based on location and opponents’ NET rankings. Does that mean the feedback loop is strong enough that our efficiency rankings affect our opponents’ NET rankings, bringing down (ever so slightly) our NET ranking?
It is all a bit of a mystery as the NCAA doesnt release the formula. However, efficiency ratings (kenpom etc) do figure into the NET ranking. So even if you win all your games if you dont do it as well as you should (going by efficiency) you wont be as high as you could be.
Some efficiency numbers:
Raw (per KenPom) – 6 O / 59 D
Adjusted only by comp (not by preseason) – 9 O / 86 D
Basically, our efficiency isn’t that good because our defense hasn’t been that efficient. We also may be hurt slightly by having missed a cupcake opportunity.
Makes you wonder how many of us here are bots ![]()

AI Bot: Make @Chief8hoo fairly optimistic. But give him an unhealthy adoration of Zeb Jackson.
AI Bot: Use the @Hooandtrue account to scrape Twitter, Youtube and other fan boards to educate this dribble on unrealized prospects.
AI Bot: create two users - let’s call them @DavetheWave and @haney to provide foils to all of the other users. Occasionally allow them to outfoil themselves / each other.
AI Bot: Have @WFS_HOO randomly chime in to tell us we suck
Sam Houston and Mississippi State ahead of us. Don’t expect that to last.
Thanks my brother. Tryin to be like you!
Wick wick… good one Haney
Robots will never approach my ability to procrastinate. I will not be replaced.
As has been said before, those preseason scrimmages against UConn and Maryland make so much more sense now. It’s funny because I think all three teams were probably disappointed with their scrimmages but In reality all three teams are just really good
Phi Slamma Jamma would beat every team today by 30
Except NCSU
UNC still got 1 vote!!!
Voter distribution… can anyone guess what is missing?
There were only 62 ballots this week… our buddy Steven Tsai from the Honolulu Star did not submit a vote as there were 63 voters last week. Did he get kicked off the island (not the big island)?
Perhaps he only wants to participate in the LRA Elite 8 poll.
On a serious note, most of the writers who submit an AP ballot would gladly give it up because the downside is getting yelled at by people they’ve never met, and the upside is … absolutely nothing at all.
Titus and Tate did an interview with Graham Couch, who had an odd approach to AP voting, and at the end of it, one of them asked, so why don’t you just give up your vote, and he was basically like, I want to, but they haven’t let me yet.
I would never want this “honor”… like I’d never want to be a politician.. as 50% of the population would immediately hate you.
BTW… want to know what old feels like? Two years ago I was on a first name basis with two US Congressmen, a Congressional candidate and a Georgia State Supreme Court judge… ![]()
I saw some folks post clips of that stuff on Twitter and the best comment was like “In like 2 years, Twitter won’t need actual users anymore for posts”.
Like actors. Hollywood close to not needing human actors, I think
Yeah, The Matrix totally got everything wrong. In reality, the humans would be like “Please just plug us into the pods and entertain us while you run everything, AIs!”
