Ty reminds me of me back in the day when I was the PG on the hardtop at Lambsburg school. That was 50 years ago
There are rumors surfacing that JJ Redick is considering trading Dalton Knecht to Atlanta for Trey Young.
I bet DeAndre is silently hopng for this one.
Can you imagine the LeBron vs Trey fights? Could be epic.
Wonder what else is being considered in that trade if true, cuz it obviously wouldnāt be a straight 1 to 1. Redick doesnāt seem thrilled with DāAngelo Russell though, having just moved him from starter to bench role a couple games back, citing a lack of defense (Cam Reddish moved into starting spot to add defense, Austin Reeves running point).
So they may well be shopping for a point guard. That said, if thereās any substance to this rumor, Trey is an even worse defender than DLo, so idk about that.
Man thats an odd trade if they pull it off. Like @HooDat said JJ wants more defense at the point and Trey wont bring that at all. That said running Trey at the point and then pick and roll with AD and Lebron could be devastating. Just not sure that Trey is ready to give up the keys because JJ and Bron are setting up AF to be the future lead dog for the Lakers and not sure Trey is up for that Robin role.
Brogdon working his way back from his thumb surgery. And also making basketballs disappear
The Lakers are about 30k below the 2nd apron meaning they canāt aggregate contracts and take back more salary than they send out.
Young is making 43.032 mil. Russell is at 18.692. Knecht is 3.819. Lakers need to add another 20.512 and they donāt have anyone between Russell and AD, so it has to be 2 players. And if they do a 4 for 1, theyāll have to sign at least 2 guys to have a legal roster, so they have to save that much room under the 2nd apron. And thisāll basically kill any semblance of depth, so whoever was floating that rumor probably made it up and knows nothing about NBA cap finances.
I am impressed, however, by your grasp of NBA cap finances.
Hereās a trade that works, but itāll have to be done after 12/15 because Knecht canāt be traded until then.
Russell, Vanderbilt, Reeves, Knecht for Young and Mouhamed Gueye (the lowest paid player on the Hawks roster). Thatās about 45 mil to the Hawks and 44 mil to the Lakers and the Lakers have 1.3 mil under the 2nd apron to sign a rookie minimum salary player to meet the 14 player roster minimum.
But that leaves the Lakers with a starting 5 of Young, James, Davis, Hachimura and Reddish plus Jaxon Hayes and Gabe Vincent off the bench and no one else currently in their rotation. Thereās no way they do that with a 40 year old James and ADās injury history, thatās just suicide. They need more viable rotation players, not a compression trade.
And Atlanta adding more rotation level players in no way helps Hunter get more playing time.
Yeah I mean tbh there are new āNBA trade rumorsā every other day practically. The majority of which stay just that, rumors
Dunn 2 3s so far
Donāt see why the hawks would do that trade either? If they give up young theyāll ask for a lot of picks
I wasnāt factoring whatever picks the Lakers would have to include to make it a fair deal, only the players and salaries to make it a legal deal.
0-2 at the foul line. No air balls I hope. Anyone see the game?
Jordan Minor in the G League. Didnāt realize that. He could probably make a good career overseas.
Iāve got a lot of respect for Minor. Really good player that didnāt quite get the run he deserved. Worked hard and never said anything negative about the program,
In some ways, Minor was my favorite player down the stretch. He was battling every night.
DeAndre Hunter came back tonight after missing the last 10 games. Strong performance in a Hawks win, played 21 minutes and had 22 points on 7-13 FG (3-5 from 3), 3 reb and 1 ast
Our guy RD is all grown up. He took 9 threes last night!
How many did he make? Sorry haters, today isnāt your day. He took 9. Thatās whatās important.
Cause he canāt be a reason the Suns scored 83 points in an entire NBA game right?
