šŸ€ Hoos in the NBA 2024-25

Welp, I’m definitely a Cavs fan the rest of the way.

Side note: wonder what Guy thinks of this. Sure he’s happy for his boys but gotta be tough in some ways as a competitor. It’ll work out in the long run though

I hope he stays in shape so that he can resume his career after this season! Summer League!

Another trade deadline and poor Malcolm is left in the purgatory that is the Washington Wizards organization. Feel bad for the guy.

Maybe he can sign with Miami, as he was doing well when he was there the first time.

Cavs vs Wizards tomorrow night. Has there ever been an NBA game with 4 UVA guys suiting up? UVA 2016 vs 2019 LOL.

Would be great to see a nice UVa contingent there, especially assuming Dre arrives by then

Hunter is definitely wanted in Cleveland… look what they gave up!

Man, stoked to see these guys back together! Clippers are my west coast team and Heat my east, but gonna hop on this bandwagon too for sure  #LetsGoCavs

Just looked at Knicks (Cavs) tix and damn, I’m not mortgaging my place so I can get nosebleeds to see the Knicks. It was more fun when they stank and you could get cheap seats.

And I’m not going to Barclays because you get actual nosebleeds in the cheap seats there.

Cavs also wanted to get under the tax line and Hunter’s two years left on the contract is actually a positive for them. They also probably think this is selling high on LeVert too.

Hawks probably think they’re selling high too and LeVert’s expiring contract gives them some flexibility going forward.

ESPN just said that this probably means Cavs can’t afford to resign Jerome at what he’ll cost

Not to say that Hunter isn’t wanted, but LaVert’s contract is expiring and Hunter has 2 more years left and is younger and slightly bigger. Plus they dumped Niangs 8 mil next year. I’m not sure what their plan is but they’re already 12 mil over the 2nd apron for next season with only 10 guys under contract. I’d expect some moves this offseason. They seem to like Jerome and they can pay him more than almost anyone else, so I’d expect something to get done there.

The 2 swaps are second choice swaps after Utah, so the Hawks can swap with the worse of Utah or Cleveland’s picks. I expect Atlanta to be worse than Cleveland both years, so these swaps have only speculative value at best.

The 3 2nds are cool, but as you’ve seen with all the trade activity the past couple days, 2nds don’t have a lot of value, but they can help grease the skids for a trade. I think most GMs don’t see any difference between a guy you can get 40-60 and a UDFA. There’s some cap advantages for signing a draftee over a UDFA, but that’s really winning at the margins.

This might just be me but I’ve never been a huge fan of LeVerts game. Not saying I think he’s bad or anything I just don’t like the way he plays.

I’ve always like LeVert’s scoring ability. Like a Lou Will come in and get buckets 6th man role.

Plus his name is cool af

I think he gets into a weird spot where teams bring him in and almost become too dependent of him. It could also be because it has always felt like the dude gets run at the expense of a different Hoo haha

I’m already salivating at the idea of going to Cleveland for the finals. We went in 2018 for game 4 (warriors clinch, LeBrons last game in Cleveland). It was one of the coolest experiences of my life. The wife and I both absolutely loved Cleveland.
