He’s still on a minutes restriction after his most recent injury

Too late, Nevada snapped him up.

Shame on UVa. Seeing Kyle Guy make weird gang signs for another college team is wrong and not his fault

Uggh, Steve Alford is a massive jerk. I guess you have to start somewhere.

Why is Alford a jerk? Am not arguing just curious cause I only remember him as that Indiana Legend

Coaching wise?

Steve Alford was like the Grayson Allen of the Big Ten when he played for Bobby Knight.

Grayson Allen seems like a good guy. Kinda feel bad for him the way opponents kept tripping over his legs.

RD with a big double double in a win over the Spurs. 26 points 11 rebounds.

+34 in his 34 minutes on the floor.

I can’t speak to his coaching but he’s known as an egotistical jerk. The Grayson Allen analogy is a good one. I was going to say imagine if Christian Laetner was a college coach.

The folks in Iowa to this day say his name like it’s a vile curse. They will admit that Fran was a somewhat temperamental coach but they generally liked Fran. They hated Alford and parties were thrown to celebrate the end of his tenure.

My friend is a huge Hawkeye fan and totally laid back, but if you mention Alford to him, even in passing, his knee jerk response is simply “f&@k that guy “.

Thanks for the heads up. After I posted that the Suns were back in the play-in game, they proceeded to lose 8 straight! But a big part of that was some tough games, including at Celtics/Knicks, etc.

With one game left, I’d say all in all, RD has had a nice season. He ended at ~31% from 3, on decent volume (3.5 attempts per game). He’s obviously still struggling with his shot, as he was only 49% from the FT line. He kinda went in and out of Bud’s favor for reasons I don’t really understand. I’m assuming he played well on defense, but haven’t really followed. Very early on, it kinda seemed like a dream situation, with it looking like he might be a key piece of a Vet playoff team in his rookie season. Then the team didn’t really work, and then after the All-star break, Bud seemed to lose confidence in him. But he’s played a lot recently, so it’s nice to see him have a big game, even if the Suns are now eliminated. Will keep watching his career with interest.

Absolutely wrong here. Sorry

Wouldn’t be the first time. I should have been more specific. I don’t know Alford. Could be a great dude. But that was how he was perceived by fans of opposing teams.

For all I know, Alford could be great with his team and his staff. I just know he didn’t inspire love and affection with other interactions. In the other thread HGN said Guy has known Alford for years, so Guy would know better than me.

Ah. Never realised it as a coach. Only remember him as a player and I never noticed he was anything like Grayson Allen type

That is great. Braxton has been grinding so long. Happy to see that even if it’s just for the playoffs.
