All time winner Mama-D mama-Do on the Knicks bench! No wonder they look so good in the playoffs.
Jokic and 0oncic are just on a different level. These two Serbians are running clrcles around the NBA. Many think they are the best 2 players in the world. What is up in Serbia?
Ok my bad .. i think Luka is from Slovenia
Throw in Giannis and you could make a pretty strong argument that the 3 best players in the NBA arenāt American.
BTW, did anyone see Jalen Brunson as this kind of scorer in college. I sure didnāt. Maybe I wasnāt paying attention but it wouldnāt have surprised me if he werenāt even drafted.
He was pretty awesome in college, though even with that, I donāt think people predicted him being able to be #1 offensive option good in the NBA. Maxey might even be the bigger surprise, kinda meh college stats.
I think the top 4 with SGA are all not American.
True. Forgot about him being Canadian.
Not at all. But some dudes somehow just figure out the NBA. Amazing to watch
You could see it with Maxey in college. Assume he played 1 year and out. Dude is made for NBA
Heās come down a little recently, but youāve also got Embiid on the non-US squad.
I think the more interesting question to ask at this point is actually who is the best American player in the NBA? Many of the recent greats (Lebron, Durant, Curry) are declining. The new American generation is being led by⦠like Jason Tatum? Anthony Edwards or Devin Booker? Itās not the most convincing. Need a new generational talent or for those guys to take a bit more of a next step.
Anthony Edwards is him. Heās 1 playoff round away from passing Tatum and claiming best American player of the new generation.
Brunson Maxey Tatum holding down that next tier
Was also going to say Edwards. He isnāt getting as much attention as he deserves (yet) playing in Minnesota, but if weāre talking American born players, if Iām starting a team I take him over everyone else in the league. And only 22.
I donāt know if Edwards is an efficient enough scorer yet. The bar for that is extremely high in todayās NBA.
Agreed dude is a 2 way threat with pure aggression and a fire. He has the swag and the personality with the skills to back it all up.
Also donāt want to forget Ja who I expect to comeback strong next year.
My caveat to this is that he has made massive improvements every year so far and he obviously has enormous potential. Plus, the value he brings defensively cannot be understated. I expect him to reach the elite tier next season given his path so far.
I just wouldnāt put him in contention at #1 just yet.
Also, the old guard of LeBron/Davis/Curry/Leonard etc is still really really good.
Would throw Haliburton in the mix too, in terms of younger guys.
Donovan Mitchell kinda gets overlooked because of lack of playoff success, but heās same age as Brunson and still very good.
