I have fond memories of watching him and his teammate dismantle a good William and Mary team in Norfolk. As I recall, W&M opened up a pretty good lead. Then WVA went to a full court press and wreaked havoc (much of it Jerry West) on the tribe and won the game. Teams weren’t used to seeing that very much in that era.

I’m amused at (and happy about) how Hauser is so throughly claimed by UVA fans/team account. Marquette team accounts don’t say anything about him, which I guess is logical because it was both a different coaching staff and he left there.

It’s weird how the 2 players who have had the most post-championship NBA impact (Sam & Trey) only played one season here, and it was the screwed up COVID season where the fans didn’t even get to see and cheer for them in person.
Wish we could get a do-over for 2020-21 with regular circumstances.

That 2020-21 team still seems like a missed opportunity. I think the restrictions in that season affected the team really coming together because, yeah, that team was really talented. (Also, Woldo should have played more, as our only guard who could create 3 point gravity).

The 2019/20 team is the team I really wanted to see. Things were coming together and NOBODY could score on us. Would’ve been interesting to see how far we would’ve advanced in the tournament.

Pretty similar I think. Both are at the very top of their domestic league every season and both have made one Euroleague Final Four in recent years.
