Anyone know what kind of pay heād be making in the BBL?
Not a lot if I recall. Itās semi pro type I believe the team salary cap is 250 or 300k. So 10-15 a player
The BBL has a Ā£250K salary cap⦠so if they carry 12 players thatās around Ā£20,800 per season on average⦠so with todayās exchange rate, that is $26,500⦠but that is a fallacy as I lived in England for a while making dollars⦠you are really living in pounds, so you are really making the equivalent of $20,800.
The other issue is he is playing for Sheffield⦠which is pretty much in the middle of nowhere based on the standard Americanās England geography knowledge⦠at least over an hour away from Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, England, Edinburgh, Glasgowā¦
On the upside 18k can get you a 2 bedroom and only 2 roommates in Shefeild
On another note everything is 2 hrs away from something in England
Wow⦠thanks for the info Jazz and Dragon. I imagine itās a short season they play?
I think its only a cple months. If I recall when my buddy worked it they were doing a TBT type setup. But I donāt remember if that was a one off or not.
The league is pretty random I lnow they brought in Dennis Rodman at one point im the aughts.
I think itās about 40 games⦠but I also think they are financially in trouble and possibly close to imploding.
Caffaro is staying in Spain but switching teams. I donāt know if thatās a lateral move or what.
I think that moves him one league up. To Liga ACB. From Madrid to Girona, where he may need to learn some Catalan. Like Benvingut
Marc Gasolās team⦠nice. They are like the Wrexham of Spanish basketball.
ambitious
The club colours are blue and white and the logo features a basketball and a moose, an animal common in Sweden. The mascot of the team is Bruce the Moose.
Bruce the Moose seems like an interesting mascot choice given the local wildlife.
Devon will be at Fenerbahce for the next season:
Pretty sure Darius is still at Anadolu Efes, across town (yet in a different continent).
Marial needs to get over there so we can solve the 16-17 wing rotation once and for all.
Apparently Marial signed with a Chinese team:

The leagues where thereās a significant quality gap between the imports and domestic players (although Chinaās domestic players are at a decent level based on national team results) are perfect for the āget bucketsā types of players. Trae Golden was a decent 13 ppg kind of guy at GT his last year of college, and heās led the league in scoring 3 times in the last 4 seasons, including an eye-popping 44 ppg season in 2021-22.
