5 junior year visits, 5 senior…calendar flips August 1st.
I think the rule change had great intentions but they need to tweak how it’s applied. Players could always begin taking visits on Jan 1st their junior year, 5 after that. It was meant to allow them to get the free trips the fall before, basically just to save them the expense.
But by having the junior/senior year cut off point in August it’s turned into a bunch of extra free trips for kids in the heat of their recruitment, between April and August. Most kids don’t want to take more than five anyway, but some…lol They just end up wasting the time of schools they aren’t really considering.
Also while they gave the recruits all these extra visits…they never raised the maximum that each school can have. Which is a little fouled up.

I like the idea of Power and Amadou. Amadou, once he beefs up, can play 4 or 5 and Power 4 or 3.

Seems like this frees kids up to wait until after shoe circuits to figure out if they can redefine reach and safety programs.
That doesn’t really advantage being great at early evaluations.

UCLA and UNCheat are not *late interest. This is very early in the process for Power. Kids and parents know when they’re getting patronized by a club that perhaps wants to save face, or show that you are *not one of their prioritized recruits.
Since we did not lock TJ power up early, it has allowed alot of other teams to now get in the fray. FYI- I’m NOT blaming our staff at all, it’s just that you know that he may be fishing for new offers, and that is perfectly fine. It’s just the way that it’s looking now.
