Courtney Alexander, my dude, was probably the best talent in the Jeff Jones era. OMG he was talented. He was Jamal skills and athleticism, Cory Confidence, Singletary Game, Mustapha jumper and Ty Dawg mentality. UVA could have done more

Who was better than Cory and Jr? Chris, Juwan and Jalen. Cory is my dude but Travis Best was a monster. So was Damon Stoudamire and thats just point guards. Doug, I LOOOOOVVVVEEEE UVA. But I will not be fake. Jason Rogers was not good. Yuri was ok. J Will was a Great role player and leader. Now go down Michigan five.

Michigan did start the baggy shorts, bald heads, black socks and they ALL STARTED. Plus they had returning starters that won the chip or played in the ncaa. Like I said, UVA was corny before Cory and Jr. Look at the pic your keep showing. They definetly made UVA cool. I was around trust me. But the Fab five went tu the chip and did it with flavor.

I think if you could sit down and be objective, you wouldnt say that. I bet if you ask non UVA and Mich fans this question. One hundred percent of them would pick Michigan. Not 99 percent but 100 percent and this is not a knock on our great class. Mich were rank hire and had better careers. You cant give me one solid basketball reason why you think our guys were better than the fab five. This is not even close tu dissing our guys. Our guys were tremendous and coming out of hs, we were ranked number tu behind them. Mich had four guys that got drafted and three in the nba lottery. One will be a Hall of Famer one day. They went tu back tu back final fours as fr and soph. They all started!!! This is the problem I have with people. I understand this is your opinion. But I also know they are close tu you. So of course you will take them but this is where I think I separate myself from many. I donāt think that should matter and it doesnt with me. If my son stink. I will say he stink. I think a person lose credibility if they dont State the obvious. Regardless of the relationship. Not you but in general. For me its a turnoff because it will always make me think that individual is not being objective. Someone very close tu me got their ass busted the other day and I shared that with my UVA peers. I said he got his ass busted and I kept it real. I didnāt sugar coat anything. Again im not isolating you. Im talking in general. Now, There is no way I can shit on our guys. They were awesome. But its ok tu be honest and not feel obligated. Not only werent our class better. I think Mich class was one of the best of all time. Now if you disputed that, than cool. But I am having a serious issue understanding your thought process on this, other than being a friend tu those involved and being politically correct. So please Give me just one basketball reason why you say they were better than the fab five. Just one thing. I cant come close tu what those guys and yourself accomplished. They are all time UVA greats. I loved their swag. Im a fan and I love UVA so much that I didnt take a job because that job was in a state that didnt have The ACC network or show UVA games. I was only saying I personally would rather have played with our guys than the Fan Five team. Obviously they were wildly talented and did big things but they never beat Duke ā¦ i think. Also Cory was top target for them then. I think the order was Jimmy King committed before C so that took the Michigan choice away for Cory. Tu and TW proly know these stories better than I do.
Also that entire class was loaded

See, I respect your post Merch. Im being told you are crazy about UVA. But you kept it real just now. I can talk tu you about ball. LOL The Hoop Scoop was the shit but Street n Smith ruled the recruiting world. Look at their rankings. Jalen was the leader of the Fab Five. A 6ā7 PG from the hood. Our guys were from great homes and the suburbs. They were still cool and had mad flavor. They were the first class that brought confidence and cockiness. I love it. I was around and saw things. They brought hip hop tu UVA but they were not the fab five.

Big reason why we beat Duke in Cameron in 93 were all those things Tu mentions about that class. Loose and confident and that was a real team win. Everyone had solid games and made key plays down the stretch.

Jeff Jones was tu young for all that talent. He brought nba guys tu the program and for the first time in yrs. As a fan, I wasnt nervous playing the bug boys because we had great talent also. But the difference was they knew it. They werent scared of a bunch of nerds at Duke called the Cameron crazies. Thats what I said about Ty and why they won at Duke. Ty played games in Brooklyn NY. The same Brooklyn you see in the news every nite this week. Brooklyn fans dont go home tu dorms and books. They go home tu poverty and guns. Ty wasnt afraid of playing in front of Duke and he brought that confidence tu that UVA team. I tell all players. You need talent but without confidence you are nothing. This is the problem with Kody. He can knock down a hundred shots in practice but without confidence. It will not cross over tu the game. Cory was the Ty of those yrs. They still couldnāt Eff with Michael Evans. Not even Jason Kidd when they played. I think I might start my own podcast. LMAO. I dont want the attention. LOL

LOL. Iāve missed a handful of UVa games my entire life. But, thatās what I know best. I watched Michigan when they were on National TV and during the tournament, so for me. I didnāt really know Michigan. What I saw was amazing, but I also only saw a small sample size. If I only saw UVA in big national TV games and in the tourney, I would absolutely have a different opinion.
Thatās why I donāt think anyone can be a great college basketball analyst. How can anyone watch every team with the same energy and passion as we watch our favorite team? Impossible.

Tu that umich class was maybe the best of all time but i think on the pod they were saying that our guys were rated higher or even until cwebb committed. Iād take CA and June over Rose and Howard.
