Watching Field of 68 coverage, and Rob “Fickle Love” Dauster likes us to make the Elite 8. He was doing a pitch job on the other panelists (who were all picking Mich/Iowa State for Elite 8). Praised Ugo’s work on Boozer, felt like the Iowa State guy can’t handle Thijs.
Now if we actually get to that game vs Iowa State, he’ll totally change his tune. But for now…

On a related note, do Friday afternoon games usually result in Sunday afternoon games? Or are there sometimes afternoon > evening for first to second round? I fly overseas Sunday at 6:30pm

Love the draw, but was at the last Iowa St S16 game in Chicago and it was 90% Iowa St fans. Obviously, didn’t mean shit last time, but worth noting that would be equivalent of a road game.

Chicago would be a hot ticket with Iowa State and Michigan fans within close driving distance and a lot of alumni of both schools living in Chicago.

Wright State is a solid 3 pt % team (36.1%) but they rarely shoot them (305th nationally in 3pa/fga). Their starting 4 is not a shooter at all, and while their starting 5 does shoot them sometimes, he is 13/49 on the season so might be able to get away with just letting Ugo camp out in the paint. Their starting 4 and 5 are 6’7” and 6’9” too so should be able to feast on the glass.
This feels like a great matchup to me.
