Heās not wrong.
He isnāt, but imagine the absolute mess that will open up. I meanā¦. what about football? What happens to the seniors who were just forced to enter the draft with no remaining eligibility and were taken in the 7th round or went undrafted? Do they get to come back after being picked in the 7th round? I think if youāre going to do it, you have to start with the rising freshmen. Grandfathering people in is lunacy and a logistical nightmare.
You are not wrong either⦠this will be chaos no matter what the rules are.
Yep. I donāt see a clean solution. The cleanest option to me is to start with the rising freshmen, but even that presents issues to every other class.
I believe the winner of whatever fiasco will come about is āBillable hoursā
Itās almost like policies are time-defined and change often, so everything for all time isnāt whatever we construe as fair in a present moment. #NickelAndWhine #StudentLoanForgivenessForAll
Nickel got to play his entire career with NIL and free transfers after generations of college players not having either so maybe he should just count himself lucky.
I assume this is the case but:
Are we sure this isnāt going to impact guys who have remaining eligibility under the current ārulesā but would be out of eligibility under the new rules? Like Thijs should be out of eligibility under the new rules but Iām guessing they would let those athletes play out their previously granted eligibility? Or at least I havenāt seen anything suggesting players like TDR will be impacted
De Ridder is only 23 years old so heās under the age cap.
I assume someone who has their eligibility reduced via the new rule will sue and the courts will work it out.

Hate this with a passionā¦
Bleh. The prelim round games should be for the last at-large spots (and correct the original sin that was including 16 v 16 in the First Four).
Motion to rename the āOpening Roundā the Seth Greenberg Invitational.
So itās the current last 4 in, plus the new 8 teams (69-76), plus 12 teams that wouldāve already been in the 64 team bracket? Thatās a very steep price to pay for those 12 teams that have historically already been in the main field. You now need need to be 8 seed or better to be out of the play in field?
Wonder if the bracket challenges will include these games now, rather than āwinner ofā for round of 64.
Not in the athletic article on it today. They included more conference champs in the play ins so I donāt think folks will love that if thatās the format
