We were much more patient in the first half. 3Q we were just chucking whatever
🏀 NCAA Women's Tournament Sweet Sixteen: #10 Virginia vs #3 TCU, Saturday, 28 March 2026, 1930, ESPN
I mean…at least throw it up from half court. they had 5 seconds.
1000%. Just because you can hit the backboard on a layup does not mean you should take it while at a 45º angle while being covered lol
can we try hedging against the pnr or idk…anything
Nothing from Smith tonight
At least it was a fun first half.
Damn. I wanted that Kymora-vs-Dawn game. We would’ve gotten creamed but still.
Was a great run for the ladies, just ran out of magic against a really strong team.
Hopefully this allows us to gain some momentum in the portal and on the recruiting trail. The funds are there to turn this into more consistent success.
Great run, yes. But I feel like we beat ourselves tonight.
This would be close if we could rebound and make free throws
Agreed. I’m just not convinced Mox can lead us to consistent success.
Waited wayyyyy too long to foul there.
Feel like that’s a consistent theme with this team
That stretch at the start of the second half was the difference.
Proud of the team for their NCAAT run. Went into the Dance on a losing streak and I was pessimistic but this was a jolt of energy.
Now we’ve seen March runs be Fool’s Gold before, but at least we know there’s some momentum heading into the off season.
tbh I’m worried this could be a Keatts scenario, but whatever, I’m still glad for the achievement. I’m especially glad that Kymora finally got to the tourney and even the second weekend. She came in here knowing she was signing up for a rebuild, she earned this.
It probably is. But it’s one of those things we just have to embrace the run. And whatever happens the next 2 years happens. I feel safe saying the program won’t be as bad as it was 6 years ago
Yep, lid was on the basket and TCU was getting several second and third chances on the offensive end.
Great, great run by the women. Up and down season, but they kicked it into gear at the right time. Proud of what they did.
And happy to see Coach Mox presumably earn an extension. I might feel differently in a couple years but I also might not. Team has indeed improved (if only slightly) every season she’s been coach. If the team takes another step forward next year (and the donors should feel pretty happy about the results), they’ll start being a force.
I think she’s earned an extension though '28 or MAYBE '29. More that is premature.
Importantly, our “whale” is presumably on board:
