Aside from the obvious. nos we would get from that top list, Henderson is probably the one I would choose off that list.

What Gillen taught us is he didn’t think he could win consistently… he even said it later… and he was unlucky with injuries too.
Now I’m a bit depressed…. Uuuggh. I have a friend who teaches at Samford…. He thinks very unlikely Bucky comes to Hooville…. Oh well.
Why would a professor know what their MBB coach would likely do?

Dude took two programs to the Division 2 final 4 (currently local to the Miami area). Are there any out of the box candidates like that for UVA?

Yeah was gonna say the Randolph Macon coach as the left field kind of candidate.
@gcoles13 I don’t mind the “second chance” coaches, but I worry that Bryce Drew looks good because GCU has a huge funding advantage compared to other mid majors for reasons that don’t have to do with him.

Probably right. I do think it shows he can at least play that game, which should be one (of many) prereqs for the next guy. For how poorly he did at Vandy, he did get Darius Garland and Aaron Nesmith to come there. He’s also performed at Grand Canyon and Valpo.
The Longwood SMU game…
Starting to put some stock on a Ryan Odom/Griff Aldrich staff. Cant believe Griff’s salary as of 2022 was less than half of what our assistants/D1 assistants make.
I’ve got a friend with Longwood season tickets. Says he doesn’t see Aldrich wanting to go as an assistant but would definitely be a top candidate to replace Odom at VCU.

After a successful stint at VCU? Idk. I don’t think any of these low level guys are going to be actual candidates considered but that’s just me. I think the lowest would be guys from mid majors who’ve consistently been to or had a little tournament success. Odom, Richey McKay types.
