Iād be very surprised if itās Odom.
Still 2 months left for guys to earn/lose a chance at the job. Odom doing well is a good thing because heās our floor. He also clearly wonāt be our first call so weāll see if weāre able to convince any of the ālong shots.ā
I donāt think we have the money to outspend Vanderbilt plus the buyout and I feel like our admin is too āplay it safeā to have the balls and hire Jerrod Calhoun.
Shaka seems content in Marquette and DeVries is the next Iowa coach if not Ben McCollum.
Weāll see though
Definitely the betting favorite. I think his ceiling is lower than a lot of the other options but heāll be fine.
Havenāt given up hope on the Byington train yet though.
I think we have money to outspend Vandy if we want to, I just donāt know if we want to for Byington. I think we will throw a big number at Shaka, Carlisle, maybe even Donovan. I think the money is there for a āsure thingā like those guys. Byington is killing it so far but idk if heās viewed as a āsure thingā yet.
By the way, Odom drove out to Farmville yesterday to watch his friend Griffās team play. If theyāre that close, I think your idea of him coming along with Odom might have legs.
Hell, letās throw Seth Greenberg on Odomās staff too while weāre at it lol.
you know⦠that 3-year extension for Ron wouldnāt be so bad now that I think of it⦠![]()
The University of Virginia would have to formally cut ties with me over the actions I would commit if we bring back Ron.
Iāll say it like this I wonāt be very surprised at all if itās Odom⦠But I will be very surprised if he is the first choice.
I have a feeling our first choice and maybe even our second and third choice will not come.
But that doesnāt mean it wonāt work out well for us. Iām staying positive about how itās gonna look next year.
Pretty much where Iām at as well. I think Odom is a fall back option, but also the guy we end up with, and heās still a very solid choice.
Regarding Donovan ⦠that may not be as far fetched as it used to be⦠College basketball in 2025 is a lot closer to the NBA in 2025 than to college basketball in 2019.
And hereās another way to look at it ⦠2025 Hoos are like 2024 Rohdeā¦. And look how much better he got the next year!!!
Letās go Hoos!!!
The issue (well one of many issuesā¦) with all the NBA guys is timeline. Just nearly impossible with the current college timeline.
BYU made it work with Kevin Young and the Suns, and they even had a full first round series. Bulls are a coin flip to make the play-in as of right now and will probably be a big underdog to make the full first round. I donāt think Donovan is particularly likely, but just saying.
It should be a very interesting job market this offseason. I would expect a lot more high-profile jobs to come open. I wouldnāt be surprised if Indiana opened up. I have some friends in the media that cover Tennessee. Apparently, Barnes had to be talked out of hanging it up this past year.
It was big they got that 4-pt win over Chattanooga after the home loss to ETSU. Big things ahead for Samford.
I think Sanford is a health care chain in the midwest
I saw that note in an article about Smith. And that he moved his childās caretaker down to the Bay Area when he changed jobs. That adds another complication.
I will say that UVA Childrenās hospital is one of 21 hospitals in the Autism Care Network. Stanford Hospital is not.
