24-8 rebounds that half. Ron aināt it yall.
Has nothing to do with Ron. Thatās players and heart.
This is mean to say (sorry fresh. Love you) but I think less of anyone who wants to retain Ron.
Boxing out and guards going for rebound. Absolutely its on coaching.
Also so much passive standing around. No one really cutting. No punishing of ffront our players.
Im not involved in the Ron debate, but I meanā¦look at Dukeās fucking size.
So aside from retaining this below average core, what is the actual reasoning for the retain Ron upswell? I donāt think he will retain much anyway, but that aside, has anyone put together a compelling business case?
There is actual talent there. A coach who knows how to use bigs etc. etc.
I am not an RIBer by any means but I donāt think the Duke game will have any bearing on his chances of getting the job here, even if we get blown out. Only way it would have is if we pulled off the upset, which isnāt looking likely.
At this point do you think he has to coach himself into the conversation, or is he very much a top option for those in charge? I understand you canāt answer this without guessing but thatās what has me worried about this discourse. Like is he just being talked about s a potential option because weāve played better or is there actual intel I may have missed that has him seriously being considered as of right now
Wait is this real? Iāve been off the board the whole season, surely people donāt actually think we should hire Ron Sanchez?!
The (wrong) case is Ron uniquely understands UVa and its culture(?) and is at least as good of a coach as any of our other options (deranged).
Also heās a good guy and deserves a shot because college athletics runs on nice guys I guess.
Itās all insane, and I genuinely think bringing him back after this season where a bunch of casuals have already checked out would do a ton of damage to the program.
Speaking from experience. Your coach can only say so much before you actually do it. Itās on you and your boys to find a body and box. Itās also very hard to block out amazing athletes!
Iām kept up at night by a scenario where we retain Ron, he still loses just about everyone, and we produce three straight mediocre seasons with apathy running at all time highs, until heās mercilessly fired and our job has lost all shine
The job doesnāt lose its shine because the fundamentals would still be great. But it can definitely dull a bit
Dude I know, it seems crazy but there are some here lol
I get the pull for Ron, and watching the KG interview TW did made me like him more, but we need an infusion of talent and energy.
Ron cant rebound?
I think it is probably the second most likely outcome behind hiring Ryan Odom.
I donāt really see how itās likely we hire Ron at this point like whatās the argument? He beat a free falling pitt team and bad VT and GT squads. The argument simply isnāt there. If we were looking at any other program weād understand that Ron isnāt getting hired
The field is the huge favorite over Odom/RIB
