If BYU can get the Jazz owner engaged and land Dybantsa, we should be able to build the infrastructure to land guys like Nate Ament, etc. Time to swim in the NIL waters
So the U in UVa stands for what⌠Unmotivated?
I love this take, genuinely. There is a giant âguy who dribbles the ball past other guysâ hole on the current active roster and I think it does make the rest of the roster look worse than they would be in a more balanced roster. Corollary is that the roster is set up to make a slashing perimeter player look amazing. The offensive spacing is genuinely good on the team in most of their lineups (maybe even all of the commonly used ones). Just donât have anyone who can make use of it.
Yea I think the staff played checkers. Got IMac off for few shots but didnt think of or have a counter when they ganged him
Need to add in some Cofie/ Sharma elevator decoys or some shit
X gonna be the key we all hope
Fresh - Any insight on how X feels about Ron and co?
If he stays. I agree sharma needs shots!! His shot is pure and you can tell it he can make it.
Sharma proving me wrong on him early
I think the optimistic take is that we are a high level scoring guard away from being a good team (Iâd add two, just in case)
The pessimistic take is, yeah, along with most other teams in the 100-150 range in KenPom.
Iâll keep beating the Jalen Warley drum. Perfect complement of skills that we donât have now, and that we need to unlock stuff for other guys (of course, having him and Eli would be the ideal imo). Hereâs where Warley excelled, which seems to match up perfectly with many of the gaps:
- Backcourt defensive stopper
- Slasher and finisher
- Court vision
Put him on the roster and we are a top 50 team by end of the season.
Bringing it back to Ron: I realize Warleyâs decision wasnât purely basketball, but it certainly seemed at least partly basketball from all the reliable sourcing. I gotta wonder how or why Ron didnât see the comparative value Warley brought the roster and then bend over backward to keep him? If indeed he didnât, that is a reddish flag for Ron in my book.
I think top 50ish with Warley seems about right. If we could have found a way to have him and Ames play together plus iMac, I think that would unlock some things on offense.
The best Iâve seen our offense run remains the first quarter of the blue-white game
Exactly⌠why are we talking about 20 point losses at UVA with our snail pace.
How many times under Tony were we down 10 or more in the 2nd half and won??!
Actually - does anyone know?
At Miami with London in OT game? London loved being down so we could come back somehow
7mil lol. Will we ever be able to compete at a top 15 level again?
(1) Adam Zagoria on X: âIâm told AJ Dybantsaâs NIL number was close to $7 millionâ / X
Iâm not sure how this would impact your perception of whether we can compete. We werenât getting guys like this in the first place. Iowa state under Otz is trucking. Marquette under Shaka. Purdue with Painter. Lots of examples of how we can have success
âI am toldâ. Nah man
Sorry, meant at âNILâ or budgets, not can we be ranked top 15 again. Of course we can
