I was semi hopeful about the launch of the ACCN, but it doesn’t seem to me to be a particularly good place to watch ACC sports content other than games. Which is alone, pretty good, but hasn’t really been the ESPN for the ACC that I hoped it might be.
Yeah, that’s fair. Honestly, my feeling for the ACC network is that its done better than “complete failure”, but I watch it grudgingly rather than because I actually want to or because I think its doing a good job.
Edit - I mean, other than the many ways in which the Tac Shaver has changed my life.
Edit2 - And its just weird that the ACC network, which always seems to be struggling for content, is watching probably one of the two highest profile schools in the ACC create its own content separately rather than partnering up in some fashion.
I don’t think the ACC network has done anything for me as a fan (other than introducing me to the joys of shaving underwater). The games that are on ACCN used to be on Raycom / Jefferson-Pilot (which if anything did a slightly better job I thought) and I don’t watch the non-game content.
While I agree with the sentiment that the ACCN sucks, I think it has been a pretty huge net positive just by existing. Our games are almost always on TV now, on my basic cable package (I live out of region) vs. having to go to a certain tavern in a certain village to catch half the games, and occasionally I get to catch a little bit of a non-revenue UVA sport. I’m glad it exists.
As said before lists like this only serve to drum up controversy and clicks, no real thought put into this outside of the #1 spot which they obviously nailed. Maryland, Central Michigan, Wyoming, Bowling Green, and Louisiana Monroe should all be on the list IMO.
