I suspect Kenās computer might not be doing a good job trying to incorporate the fact that 2020-21 was a really weird year with extenuating circumstances and that saying that Baylor had the toughest ever path might be ignoring some key aspects of that tourney and that year

I donāt have a strong take. I get that 2020-21 was a weird year, but I donāt have a handle on the shape of the weirdness.

I get what you are saying. I wish rating systems were more transparent with the error bars they have around their team strength estimates. 2020-21 the error bars would be a lot wider because of weird things like less out-of-conference play, more roster variability from game-to-game.

Iām always surprised few people say what seems obvious to meā coaches shouldnāt be allowed to set their schedules. Itās like, here we are in the year of our Lord 2024, and players are getting paid seven figures but coaches and ADs are still setting their schedules like theyāre my 5 year old picking out her birthday menu. āHmmm, how about instead of vegetables or protein, I have entirely pink cupcake frosting?ā And me and my wife are like, donāt forget you have to play the SEC-ACC challenge! And then sheās like, fine but thatās going to cost you more sugar ā¦.
