Guys like Bliss and Freitag are probably looking for starting spots. But pay them to be our bench pg who are also capable of playing next to chance in lineups.

Just did a deeper dive of what’s left at SG and CG on on3. The available remaining options are even more limited than I thought. I wonder if a bunch of player will jump in before the portal officially closes.

He impressed me when we exhibitioned Villanova. And he was a @Hooandtrue dream recruit out of HS. Not looking at stats but just top of my head Im thinking that 36% is not high volume.

I would not expect a last min flood. Guys jumping in now have been lured in or they are out of eligibility hoping for the extra year thing to pass.
I did the same sweep in 247 yesterday and it really is slim Pickens. Going to be very interesting what direction we go.

It’ll be interesting to see how Odom handles the portal. Last year, he got a bunch of mid-major veteran stars who were eager to play in the NCAA tourney. It’s easier to sell a backup role to these types of players. They want to move up a level and play in the big dance before their eligibility runs out. I hope we do focus on getting some higher ceiling and more athletic players this year, but this would require a different sell.

He’s going to get a massive bag. I don’t think people realize how good the deal we have for Johann is. Might be half what he could get on the open market given how insane prices for starter quality centers are.

What is his deal?
Johann is a couple steps from being an NBA draft pick. If he can maintain his blocking percentage and get his 3pt shooting in the 38-40% range, while making some improvements overall in other parts of his game, he’ll be very intriguing for the NBA. I’m hoping for this, not just for Johann’s sake, but to help Odom develop a reputation as someone who can develop NBA talent, especially in the Euro market.
