Pre-season 2022

That means it is a real thing lol it’s on the sheets the section committee looks at when making the bracket.

Fair - the committee doesn’t use the nomenclature, that’s what I meant.

Also, I spent 15 minutes googling Quad 1A and couldn’t find anything, so I’m a bit biased as to whether it’s a “real thing”. :joy:

I should’ve just looked at a team sheet first…

You’re right it isn’t explicitly on there anymore. They used to be break down all the quads into a and b on the team sheets. So no it’s not a real thing anymore lol

Mostly I just wanted to see if there’s a chance we get some credit for a 1A-heavy noncon or whether that higher degree of difficulty doesn’t even show up on the stat sheet. Sucks if you play at #1 and someone else plays at #75 and you both get evaluated the same.

Probably not. His Twitter post is probably an attempt to draw listeners to his podcast, and, as such, is an indication that no one is listening to his podcasts. In an age of VPNs, a geographical limitation of distribution is nearly meaningless. He knows that. He’s trying to portray his podcast as forbidden fruit. That said, it’s forbidden fruit which, evidently, no one wanted anyway.

I think when looking at a group of teams unfortunately it’s all just overall quadrant records. But once that get down to comparing two specific teams they’ll look at who has better wins. Plus beating number 1 will move you up more in KenPom, Sagarin, etc than beating 75 would.

Unless we win all our 1-A games… then it’ll definitely be a real thing

Reminds me of a David Letterman Top 10 list for the classes the UNLV National Champion team.

Number 5 - Your ass and a hole in the ground. A comparative study.

Will Wade’s probably wishing he could’ve taken #10 as an elective.

Letterman was so funny back in the day. Then he became an angry, bitter old woman. No idea how Leno ever beat him in the ratings.
