Yeah, I think it’s exciting to see we’re ranked at 21, given how well we’ve performed in that timespan. Especially since it looks like we’ll continue to rise up these rankings in the coming years (knock on wood)
Nice work! The big picture that is always consistent with our recruiting history is we are trending up, and we have a higher ceiling for improvement than many programs who are our equals in win/loss column, but who have out recruiting us in the past. Our basketball program, in terms of being a recruitment destination, has been a hidden gem. We have arguably the best development coach in the entire country, so it seems logical that we have the ability to consistently land top tier recruits that seek to improve their game at a successful program like ours. Excited about the possibilities for the future.
Based on our success, seems like we have the ability, and should be in the same league as programs like Michigan State and Villanova. Maybe our future trend after winning the Natty will over time slot us in right behind Michigan State at #10. Being at 21 is not a bad thing, but it does say we have been overlooked by some recruits. Its strange seeing Georgetown and Marquette ahead of us. It just the results of 2017 that still hurt us both in recruiting numbers, but also for our offensive performance this year. Things will balance out over time and Tony Bennett will win the recruiting battles he rightly deserves.
