⛹️‍♂️ Reece Beekman - Official Thread

Non lo so anch’io!

I think he’ll be an NBA player, but probably needs another year. But that’s probably more me wanting him back than a solid, objective analysis.

I think that was a double negative in english. In portugues I would say “eu tambem nao sei nao”

Both fit, maybe

If we lose him to Penn State I’d want Ty Davis!…still do anyways.

For whatever reason, Italians like to say “I don’t know it” rather than simply “I don’t know.” But it’s also not necessary to use the personal pronoun, unless you want to emphasize, in this case, “me neither!” Though I realize now that it should have been “neanch’io!”

Beeks is gone IMO. He is mentally done with being a student and playing college ball. His prospects are not rosy in the NBA but he seems to be shopping for other opinions and trying to find that path. Reminds me of Kyle. Just wants to go. Seems like Tony is responding to that truth as well.

Germans say “I know it not” or Ich weiß es nicht… it’s like they are punking you that they know and then saying NOT at the end.

The “mentally done with school and college ball” piece…is that from somewhere or just your feeling as to why he’s likely not going to return?

Thank you! I had been looking for a page like that all weekend! Tracks the ones I have seen on twitter as well.

Using that list, here is each guy’s ranking in Sam V’s latest big board. Reece is 61 in Sam V’s latest big board.

Known combine invites:

  1. Kobe Brown, Missouri | 41
  2. Adam Flager, Baylor | 51
  3. Mouhamed Gueye, Washington State | 64
  4. Coleman Hawkins, Illinois | 57
  5. DaRon Holmes II, Dayton | 62
  6. Andre Jackson Jr., UConn | 34
  7. Bobi Klintman, Wake Forest | 23
  8. Seth Lundy, Penn State | 63
  9. Kevin McCullar, Kansas | 44
  10. Jordan Miller, Miami (Fla.) | 52
  11. Omari Moore, San Jose State | 49
  12. Grant Nelson, North Dakota State | 75
  13. Jalen Pickett, Penn State | 81
  14. Brandin Podziemski, Santa Clara | 47
  15. Adama Sanogo, UConn | 70
  16. Ben Sheppard, Belmont | 69
  17. Isaiah Wong, Miami (Fla.) | 71

Known G league camp invites:

  1. Charles Bediako, Alabama | NR
  2. Joe Bryant Jr., Norfolk State | NR
  3. Colin Castleton, Florida | 66

My takeaway is that Reece was probably invited. Lots of guards around his rank (61) were invited. Two of the three G League camp guys were NR, and the one ranked, yet uninvited guy is basically a throwback center.

My understanding is they ask each team who they would like to see and then I think the top vote getters get invited to the NBA combine and the next group gets GLeague Elite invites. Best players from GLeague Elite get asked to stay for NBA combine.

I don’t know if the Combine is a fixed number or over a certain threshold of advocacy.

I feel like it started a 60 or so several years ago and has ballooned up to 75 or so last year (including the handful from the G-league camp).

And probably going to get bigger once the new CBA kicks in next season and requires combine participation to be eligible for the draft.

I think the numbers include all invites, though, already. But yeah, you’re right. That change will ensure more participants, at least in the measurement stuff, interviews, etc. I think 5 on 5 will remain optional.

Buddy is on a flight with Beeks to Portland right now. I see Portland has 43rd pick … private workout to see if he can get that spot? Do Blazers need a guard like Beeks? Also, of note, Beeks is flying first class.
