Odom’s teams have tended to be average-to-bad in defensive FT rate:

  • 2025 VCU: 274th
  • 2024 VCU: 225th
  • 2023 Utah St: 158th
  • 2022 Utah St: 147th

His 2021 UMBC team was 40th, but he’s only had top-100 defensive FT rate teams twice, with his interim Charlotte year being the other time. At least his VCU team last year did get some turnover creation to go along with the fouls.

Interestingly, Onyenso has a pretty decent fouls committed/40 rate for a big who blocks as many shots as he does (3.2 fouls/40 mins for his career, 3.8 last season, 3.0 in his last UK season). He might end up getting more minutes purely by being able to stay on the floor. Tillis also is pretty low foul rate, not surprising given his bball IQ rep and that he’s not a shotblocker.
