De Ridder is probably coming for a visit. They don’t expect him here for the start of summer practice, assume it’s the same for Grünloh. Probably Carrere too, he’s doing some national team stuff this summer anyway.

Is there a specific international tournament they’re playing in?
Carrere is playing in the U19 world cup, starts June 28.
Haven’t all of our players visited AFTER committing?
Yeah but I don’t see any obvious events for the other two. Would prefer they spend as much time as possible with the team.
I think it’s just about having a break. A lot of the Euro players that come over wait a little longer. My guess is they’ll be there for the last summer session in July. Plus there’s the student visa thing going on, not sure if that impacts it or not.
Yes (but he has committed :)and have to think he’s not making the trip unless he’s been cleared or on the verge
Kinda assume De Ridder will get in the Belgian team for Eurobasket in late August.
Probably good for the coaches to learn to pronounce his name and recognize him before he shows up for the first practice. Maybe help him get with a realtor so he can find a nice home to rent for the year.
Can I suggest this one that is listed for 2x its tax assessment (and is getting made fun of a lot on Reddit)?

Nah, he shouldn’t buy. Definitely rent. If he buys and gets swept up in the next internment, he may just lose his house.
J/K (although I do sometimes wonder about the title history of land taken from Japanese internees or Black people generally and if that causes issues with home sales today).
If he buys, when he sells he’ll have to make a FIRPTA declaration and he’ll have all sorts of complex tax issues plus the transaction costs of a buy and sell so close together after his presumably 1 year stay.
Do any of these guys live together? I get the allure of your own place and they certainly have the money for it, but I would think living with teammates at that age is part of the fun. Euro guys probably don’t care, but I would think some of the younger Americans might prefer some sort of group house potentially.
They all live at some new apartments I think nearish to JPJ. Part of NIL
Edit: well at the end of TBs time and the Ron and Done era that was the case. Would assume Cav Futures et alia advise Ryan on thaf
All have their own apartment then I assume? Tough to assign them roommates that way I bet.
On the market almost a month now - likely won’t get full price, but probably close. Cville real estate is expensive.

Roommates i think. 2 bedroom apartments
Oh, damn. We’re friends with the seller and I’ve been there a bunch of times. They got it cheap a while back, then put a bunch of money into re-doing it.
Its beautiful inside and super convenient to get places downtown, but its not for everyone. There’s no lot and only 2 parking spaces. It’d be good for like a wealthy retired couple who want to live downtown and walk places, with spare bedrooms for their kids to visit or something.
Ha, wow! $550/sq foot is a lot, but C&O Row is in the same price ballpark and a slightly worse location. That rooftop balcony is lovely.
To get back on-topic, I was looking at @Cuts_from_The_Corner’s Odom offense breakdown again, and I had the thought that De Ridder might be expected to play like a fusion of Jack Clark and Taylor Funk. He’s got the shooting chops to get used like Funk and then has also flashed the ability to get out and go in transition like Clark. Suspect he’d be more at Funk’s usage rate than Clark’s.
Yep, been in that house many a time, before it was redone. Law office building for many a year. It’s a cool old building and very convenient to downtown.
