To me Richard is the kinda kid that will need to decide if he wants to go somewhere he can eventually be featured or more than likely take his shot at the high major level. He’ll surely have plenty of takers. I see our guy Ron Sanchez recruited him, could be a good choice but he’ll probably aim higher.

He was one of those guys that would have gotten high major looks if not for the dead period. Lots of freshmen at mid majors this year who shouldn’t be.

My initial reaction is…PRETTY PLEASE!

Would fit in nicely with our other pieces and would provide Taine insurance if he leaves or doesn’t pan out. Plus allows Dunn to come along more slowly. Would pair beautifully next to McKneely and R33c3.

Lol He’s going to Miami or FSU. Also don’t want him. Want someone more able to space the floor (he is athletic/My brain melted for a sec). He’s so lazy on the defensive end from the peach jam games I watched. Im mean he would be a HUGE talent infusion compared to what we have on the roster but meh. He would pair nice with Traudt though I guess…

It depends. Taking a silly hypo: if Kihei comes back, and in a noncon, we give him single digit minutes while a frosh is out there dribbling the ball off his feet and trying to cover the trailing ref for 30+ minutes, that would be unfair. But if we put them both in a noncon and the frosh has typical frosh struggles on D, while Kihei is playing his typical defense, and the frosh has some flashes but is raw, and he gets 15 minutes, while Kihei goes down to 25 or so, was that unfair to Kihei? (Especially considering hypothetical Kihei would be playing his 5th year of eligibility and hypothetical frosh would be playing the first of only four).

My point is this: there is a wide range of options between “care ONLY about the next play in making personnel choices” and “care ONLY about prepping younger guys for March and beyond”, and I think an only slightly narrower range along those options that could still be classified as “fair.” (I.e., I think only the extreme versions or close to the extremes would count as unfair).

These guys need the Oscars band as they’re delivering these meandering statements.

Will Richard is #4.

Has a pretty 3 point stroke.

I can’t wait to butcher his three point stroke and make him a 27% shooter

College highlight package

Maybe I am just dumb (or biased due to the %) but the shot looks weird to me. The off hands ends up kind of on top and the motion is very quick and forward. Idk I am not a shot doctor

Part of that is Belmont’s style, they are #9 in the nation in assist rate (61.8% of baskets assisted; for reference, UVA is #18 with 60.2% assisted). Their standout big man Muszynski is their clear go-to guy on offense, so lots of 3s coming off post kick outs, I’d imagine. I know with their long-time previous coach Rick Byrd, they liked to run a lot of action with cutting and screening guards while the big has the ball on the low-block, not sure if they still do that with the current coach.

His shot profile is very good statistically, pretty much everything at the rim or from 3, and he shot 67.6% at the rim with only 41% of those being assisted. It probably won’t be quite that good against ACC-level competition, but he’s a clear plus offensive player even without shooting a good percentage on 3s

None of which are proven D1 players outside Franklin.

I just dont want it to be like last year when I was clamoring for another shooter after we landed franklin and people were like “We have Taine/Carson”.

Richard is an athlete which makes it more likely for him to meet tony’s defensive standards on top of being a proven D1 player.

So Hoo are you playing him over? Franklin or McKneely?
Because McKneely is a way better athlete than Armaan.

And personally I am done and tired of seeing lineups with 3 guys 6-4 and under.
3 starters at 6-4 and under paired with a 6-5 power forward??? Blech!

I dont know. You bring him on the roster and let it play out. We need talented starters and talented depth. How can I know who is better when it hasnt played out lol.

Creme rises to the top. The KT Harrell and Will barons/Shayoks and Thompsons transfer out. And then the 2013-2014 and 2018-2019 season follow. This season being the 2012-13/2017-2018 equivalent dip after the McKoy Jabri Casey exodus if time is a flat circle.

Both the 2013-2014 and 2018-2019 had a transfer playing for the first time who made an immediate impact. Hopefully we can get another.
