Whew. Needed that.
Now let’s leave no doubt in the ACCT.

Now let’s leave no doubt in the ACCT.
HOOS win 3-1 to take the weekend series and improve to 32-17 (16-11) on the season. VT falls to 30-24 (12-18).
Next time out will be the ACC Tournament, game date and time still TBD.
Let’s goo! UVA softball up 1-0 against Elon going into bottom 1st. On espn+ if anybody wants to watch. Win or go home in the regional
As has been mentioned many times already in this thread, we NEEDED that one. It was far more stressful than it probably had to be, but we got it. Pitching staff stepped up massively today.
Postseason odds are looking solid right now. Not a surefire thing with RPI still holding us back but our resume is gonna be a difficult one to justify leaving out. And even with our early season inconsistencies, roster warts, and plays that make us wanna tear our hair out, this is not a team that anyone is gonna want to see in their regional bracket.
TYFYS @UVApride7
They were 20-15 on April 15th. One of the hottest teams in the country.
Still think we could see a new pitching coach or did Thomas and jay save his career?
No idea, ask me after the season ends lol. Assuming we make the tourney our play in the postseason will probably hold a good deal of weight into how DD’s job here is viewed by BOC.
If we don’t make the postseason at all or we see a quick exit while giving up a bunch of runs I could see a world where a change is made. As of right now though if I had to put money on it I’d bet he’s back next season with a VERY tight leash.
What a game. So stressful. Great job by Valincius and Markus/Lanzendorfer. We were there and vocal. Healthy contingent of wahoo fans. And a beautiful day.
After GT’s win today over Duke, UVA is offiically the #6 seed in the ACC tournament.
We’ll get a first round bye and then play the winner of ND-Stanford in the second round.
Painted astroturf/field turf is just gross.
I will forever die on the hill that all turf fields should not be allowed in baseball. It looks terrible and also the game plays completely different, ground balls travel faster and have more predictable bounces than they do on dirt infields.
If a program doesn’t have the resources to provide upkeep for a grass/dirt field then don’t have a baseball program in the first place. At least that’s my view.
Just to add context here, ND is 46 and Stanford 51 RPI. Either game would be a resume boost, Stanford should be top 50 following a win over N.C. State today
Per Warren Nolan, we moved up 4 spots this weekend in RPI, to 56.
I haven’t looked back, but if we were to get in, we’d probably have one of the worst RPIs to make it in as an at-large.
We’ll actually get the winner of ND/BC. Our game is Wednesday night at 9. Root for ND Tuesday, better for metrics.

The Hokies have a notoriously quick field too due to however they maintain their turf. I hate how it allows their little SS to seemingly run halfway to 1st before he ever throws the ball.
The FSU series makes it really easy to explain away our RPI. We just needed to make it easy on the committee by finishing the season strong to show we deserve a spot and that’s what we did.
Don’t see Baseball America or D1Baseball yet, but 11point7 had us in and not even last four in this morning
D1 said their update would be tonight.
Baseball America just kind of tosses stuff out whenever.
