4-1 HOOS top of the 7th, Becker RBI base hit to LF scores two. We’ve still got two on with one down in the inning.
6-1 HOOS top of the 8th on a Didawick two out, two run HR to RF.
6-2 HOOS bottom of the 8th after a solo HR. Hodges out of the game now after a fantastic start, Osinski on in relief.
6-2 HOOS heading bottom 9. Need three more outs.
GT gets the first two runners on. Lanzendorfer is on the mound currently.
Walk. Bases loaded and nobody out.
6-3 HOOS fielder’s choice to 2nd gets one. Should have been a double play but Godbout stumbled. Runners on the corners and one out, tying run to the plate.
There’s a review on the play at 2nd but the call should stand.
Groundout back to the mound. Runner from 3rd doesn’t come home, two down.
6-5 HOOS RBI double into the gap with two strikes scores two. Tying run on 2nd, two down, GT’s best hitter up to the plate.
I really wish we had a legit closer, this is getting really old
Markus comes in and gets a K to THANKFULLY end things.
HOOS win 6-5 to take the weekend series and advance to 24-15 (11-9) on the season. GT falls to 29-14 (14-9).
We’ll see you tomorrow 1 PM EST as UVA goes for the sweep.
The W makes everything okay. But if we had choked that away…
Where are we currently sitting with the postseason? How much do we have to do in the ACC tournament
Win it?
Yes, 6-5. White knuckler
We’re directly on the bubble according to most bracket projections, either a last 4 team in or first 4 team out depending on where you look. Our RPI is mainly what’s holding us back right now but it’s gonna be helped quite a bit these last few weekends, we jumped up like 17 spots after yesterday’s win. Not getting the FSU series hurts but we’ve still got a shot to make it so long as we don’t drop any series the rest of the year.
FWIW Boyd’s World says even if we win out in the regular season we won’t be top 45 RPI. Just starting from so low.
If we are on the bubble they wont leave us out
