Credit to South Carolina. They just outplayed us today and hit some tough shots. Too loose with the basketball.
That was a disappointing game through and through, not even much good I can find out of this besides maybe Diakite

Yeah I’ve bitten my tongue on all the best defense ever hype. Maybe by KenPom measurements where dominant performances here and there can carry you. I think versatility is a problem, which means it won’t consistently be great. We need both bigs on the floor to be at our best offensively, which doesn’t play well on the other end against most teams. I know Tony disagrees but I’ve said last year’s team was actually the best defense. Look at the game by game stats. They were GOOD against everyone, could match up to any lineup even more importantly without costing offense.

At the presser, Tony said McKoy was a little sick but it was mostly coaches decision.

Played very weak offensive competition too. Not all that different from how other Bennett teams would fare against similar competition on the defensive end. Analytically, an increase in blocked shots is really the only improvement on the defensive end this year.

Our D didnt do much to bother them. Coupled with our inability to even dribble the ball brought the outcome. Plus yawning fans in the stands ha
