Honestly the score was closer than the game, I know we were in it going into half but it never really felt like we had a shot to beat Clemson. Third quarter they just buried us.

Will reiterate that AC didn’t play well but he’s also getting zero help from Des as playcaller, who we should move on from in the offseason. I wouldn’t mind making the move to Muskett as the starter against UNC, that is an absolute must-win game if we wanna make a bowl and we need our offense to have some semblance of stability and consistency. AC isn’t giving us that right now.

So we’re gettin a well rested UNC team next week huh?

It’s a strange situation isnt it? Des and AC bring the worst out of each other.

Agree the game was never close even when the Hoos were up. But it did play out according to script. Slow even first while Clemson wakes up Hoos play pretty well. Keep it closer than it should be.

2nd half Daboputsthe fear of god into his group they combine talent with execution and blow the doors off Uva

Fourth qt hoos kinda claw back in garbage to make it respectable.

My early takeaways

Des and AC will ruin what Tony is building. There needs to be a change with 1 of them.

The blueprint for the program actually looks good they were as completive as could be expected even down 3 scores. They have pride in the team and theres a culture.

Clemson is not a great team. They are a good one but they slept walked through big chunks of that game and teams with that mentality get boat raced when facing similarly talented teams.

Crazy that I actually had hope for the offense after the Coastal game, was thinking FINALLY Des found out that running the ball 45+ times a game wears down an opposing front 7, especially when you’re subbing OL in and out like we are. But the past two weeks have been a reversion to the mean, trying to make AC into a traditional pocket passer.

It’s just not gonna work between the both of them, we’ve gotta choose one or the other. Personally I’m taking AC over Des all day, bring in an OC who understands the importance of actually establishing the run over the ā€œOk but what if we caught them off guard with ANOTHER first down play action intermediate passā€ mentality that Des has.

Same Coastal was the ideal gameplan for this team.

Agree given AC has 2 more years there’s still something salvageable. No point in habing a fleet of RBs if you do not deploy them. Also let AC do what he does well let him hit some drags and quick outs. The down the field stuff simply is not there.

That and maybe the on-side kick. Maybe he thought Tony would be willing to just run out the game against his reserves.

BTW, I know Muskett was throwing against the subs, but he sure looks steady and accurate out there.

it helps when u have zero pressure

He was also throwing to the subs and had the second string OL in there. I think we’re all curious how he would look with the 1s.

There’s 0 chance UVA has a shot at Cignetti if he conpletes this rebuild of IU.

As far as what should have happened 3 years ago? I don’t believe in looking back.
