I know the end was messy, but donât underrate the difficulty of road games against tournament-quality teams. Wins-Above-Bubble is a convenient way to quantify how difficult a particular game is, and the T-Rank version of it has the Clemson game as tied with the Wisconsin game for our most difficult game weâve played; a win was worth 0.68 wins-above-bubble (I.e. a bubble-quality team would be expected to win this game 32% of the time). The only more difficult game on our schedule as of now is the Duke road game.

One of my favorite things is Groves pump faking in the corner, then driving baseline, then using his arm to push his defender off, then drilling the 8 footer pull up.
Refs somehow never call it and heâs money. I guess heâs banking on bigs not being able to sell that kind of foul.

After the game my wife got worried because she touched my hand and it was freezing. I explained it was a very close game so naturally I went into physical shutdown mode. She understands.
To KenPom, all we did was outperform expectations by 6 points (KenPom predicted weâd lose by 5). 6 points in one game wonât move the needle much. But from a resume perspective, this was huge. I wouldnât worry too much about KenPomâs indifference, for the NCAAT this was a huge leap.

Inserting Minor at the 5 and moving Groves to his natural stretch 4 position has been the difference maker for this team. Donât look now but we are 8-3 and tied for 2nd.
