I voted W but I wish I knew a little more about our health. The rumors are Buchannan may not be playing. Think we might need his 5 fouls before it is over.
Or less of Clemson
Yeah that Monday game looks like a schedule loss
Yeah itâll be a tough go if he really canât play⌠Minor will need to have his best game yet against arguably his toughest cover in Hall.
Miami has not played well this year at all, and itâs a home game. Blake â and whoever else â will have had an extra day or two to recover from their illness. Miami can score a ton of points, and thatâs a problem, but they also can be undisciplined on offense, and now that Minor is playing, Iâm less worried about Omier (although still concerned).
If you were to tell me weâd win one of our next two, Iâd think Miami is the more likely candidate. But I really hope we win both.
Tony said Blake was under the weather on Wednesday in the post game. In fact, Tony sounded sick too. The flu shouldnât last that long. Blake should be good to go even if heâs not 100%
Big game as all of you have said. I think we see a different starting lineup today.
Reece
IMac
Dunn
Groves
Minor.
Taine, Rohde, Dante, and Blake off the bench. X may get some run today if Blake is out or limited due to illness. Gotta be ready to go from the jump. Canât start slow and get their crowd into it early.
Win the turnover battle and outrebound them. We are 15-2 when we have less turnovers than our opponent and 11-2 when we out rebound opponents. And letâs make some shots- Go Hoos!
We need to find a way to keep Schieffelin off the boards. X factor.
I was thinking that Groves might start, too. But if Blakeâs out, theyâll need Groves to sub for Minor, so they may keep him on the bench. Keeping Clemson off the offensive boards is going to be a huge factor today.
I also think part of how we have been effective is limiting Groves exploitability on hedges while still getting the most out of his offense.
I dont think Reece McKneely Dunn Groves Minor should be our starting 5, but it absolutely should be a candidate to be our closing 5, if that makes sense.
I think even with Blake healthy we go same starting 5 (knowing Tony). The adjustment being Tony willing to change quicker depending on performances.
I do want to see Leon in to help with rebounding and athleticism on the court when Groves comes in for one of Minor or Dunn. (if we dont slide Dunn to the 3 at times).
In Clemsonâs two home losses, they shot 4-39 from three. Canât expect to repeat that, but theyâre tough to beat when they get it going from deep. Especially Girard. Theyâre 9-1 when heâs made at least 3 threes.
Meanwhile, UVA is 11-0 when they make 6.
If by flu you mean stomach flu which isnât a flu at all but a norovirus, youâre right, shouldnât last that long. Real flu is a bad bad virus - days of thinking youâre gonna die, 10 - 14 days before youâre close to normal again. Letâs hope itâs a norovirus thing.
Yeah. I had the flu a few weeks ago. Not getting out of bed for 3 days plus another 5 til I felt normal. And I have the immune system of a 19 year old (citation: did my own research)
This absolutely a got to have it game. Mark it down
Fear of failure is worse than actual failure!
But do you have an athletic training staff giving you IVs for fluids and the prescription flu meds?
Canât we get intel from shoot around/warmups? Common twitterverse!
Yeah you gotta stretch them a little on offense. Can Scheffelin guard Groves or Minor outside the paint?
Oh god #1 UConn struggling on the road vs St Johns and Im thinking âits hard to play on the roadâ. And then I remember we are a much worse team than UConn playing against a much better team than St Johns. In a rowdy arena desperate for momentum and wanting to finally beat us at their place. When we could really use Buchananâs 8 rebounds vs NC State vs Shieff and PJ HallâŚ
FML today could be bad LOL
Your general point stands (itâs hard to play on the road!), but St Johnâs on a neutral court against Clemson would probably be a pickâem.
