That’s my mindset as well. Always hopeful until proven otherwise. And always excited for college hoops to start

Is it possible that Power just isn’t good? Not writing him off but it’s not like there’s any evidence that he’s a good high major player. Wouldn’t surprise me if he was just kind of a bust at this level but we’ll see. Maybe Rohde’s terrible play last year has me overly pessimistic. I think we’re pretty screwed unless Dai Dai is randomly really good or if Bliss comes back and is really good. Playing a point guard who is a terrible shooter and free throw shooter is always going to jam up our offense especially because we have continued to lack a 5 who can score inside.

Seems to me points are going to hard to come by.
Unless they hit on 35% (or better) from behind the arc / wins are going to be hard to come by

I’m always the pessimistic one- be interested in others thoughts on WIN total for the season

On a positive note I’m jacked for baseball season.

I think he’s a very good three or four year player (considering this as his first year because Duke).

I wonder if we could see:

Warley
iMac
Saunders
Cofie
Blake

Related: man we are missing a strong 3 wing who can shoot a bit. Also a PG playmaker who can shoot. Any one of those and our floor is much higher.

Way too early to even entertain this imo. Need to see him in live games but he also didn’t get much development at Duke so he’s coming in as essentially a RS-Freshman.

I think he’ll be a good college player just maybe not as good as we need right off the bat. Hope we get to see it here, but who knows if his future is at UVA

I think it would be wise to give them a few games before predicting W/Ls. A lot of variables right now, but yes, we’re going to need to hit a decen-% of 3s to be good. Kind of like last year.

Have to get bets down before game 1 my friend. Becomes much easier to predict after the games start

There are just so many unknowns right now so it’s very hard to predict. Just off the top of my head you’ve got Warley’s wrist and to what degree that’s limiting him in these scrimmages? Is bliss hurt or out of the rotation? Are we shooting this poorly in scrimmages because we’re struggling with the new offense and not getting good looks or because we’re just cold? Can Dai Dai or Bliss emerge enough to serve as another creator?

Could be as simple as the shots weren’t falling in scrimmages but we got good looks, Bliss is just being held out for precautionary reasons, and Warley will be full strength soon and our clear starting PG, or it could be Warley isn’t a great fit, bliss is out of the rotation, and we don’t have the guards to create looks so our poor shooting is a reflection of bad shots.

We just won’t know until we have a sample size of a few games vs a couple of box scores of a scrimmage.

That all said, since you asked for a prediction regardless, I’ll say 19-20 wins

I dont bet, so I’ll wait a few a games before ā€˜predicting. I know if we hit 3 3s in our first two games it’s going to be an ugly year. I’m hopeful come Thanksgiving things are trending in the right direction.

Eh. Did we beat CT in a scrimmage last year?

This certainly isn’t good news, but I think people are overboard on the doom and gloom. I don’t think the team is going to be great this year, 15-18 wins, but the scrimmages aren’t why.

No, that has taken a life of its own narrative. Think we lost in OT

Eh. We kept it close against an utterly dominant team. Close enough.

Yea I get we don’t have anything else to go on but these scrimmages are hard to make sense of in the best of times. Borderline meaningless for a team in a period of turmoil. UConn struggled against us last year lol Georgetown was killing Maryland in their previous scrimmage. Anyone buying Georgetown will actually be better than the Terps?

Yes. Possible

We can predict now and then predict again Dec 1 and again for Acc Dec 24

As of now I’ll say 15-15 reg season - the Acc ain’t incredibly weak at the bottom anymore…
By the way this is the first year ever that not all Acc teams get into the Acc Tournament…:smiling_face_with_tear:

14-16 after going through the schedule quickly. We lose all the out of conference games against the bigger name opponents. Then just kind of plod along in ACC play
