I know the blocked kick is unlikely, but still in a situation like that Iād think youād be better off running a play designed to take 8 seconds off the clock

Incredibly frustrating half. Should be up but again canāt get out of our own way.
Only down three. Could easily be up 1 without that drop. Up potentially more without the fluke INT.

Nah guy was facing the play, Fields hit him from the side. At least I think thatās what happened idk itās a dumb rule.

Plus you avoid the craziness that can happen in a punt play. I was more worried about the return than the block but either way I think thereās more risk with the punt than with going for it.

Exactly. Iām sitting at a buddies house watching and he literally said āyeah theyāll block it if we go to puntā after the 3rd down play. Weāve seen too much UVA Football to know how this stuff goesā¦

Weāve gotten pretty much anything weāve wanted in the passing game, play action has tore apart Wakeās defense. Only times weāve stalled out were getting cute running sideline to sideline or beating ourselves with dumb mental mistakes.
Defense has been subpar. Did a good job of holding Wake to a couple of FGās and got unlucky with a short field on ACās pick, but far too many chunk plays given up. Weāve been able to generate pressure when rushing five but itās still not consistent enough. Really hope Kam is ok.

By my count, weāve left 14 points on the field ā 7 from Harrisā drop, 4 from Colandreaās misread on the zone read, and 3 from Fieldsā blindside block.

Radio sideline reporter said there was discussion about whether Kam could return for the 2nd half. The fact theyāre even having that discussion is good news

As bad as that was, itās only a 3 point game. I thought the defense got stronger as the half went on, need to come out and get a stop here. Take the ball back, slow down and move down the field to take the lead and see what Wake is actually made of.

I like the tempo for Colandrea. Heās 19-27 for 239 and two TDs. (Should have an extra completion and right around 300 yards and three TDs, FWIW). But heās comfortable with it ā just gotta keep sprinkling in the quick hitter inside zones to open up the outside zones and pull the safeties up for the over-the-top stuff at which he excels.
