Jimmy Miller did say during the radio broadcast that Jeff Jones told him that when he was coach at American, he always tried to schedule a Power 5 team around Christmas week because their heads werenât in the games and that gave him the best chance at an upset.

This one is tricky. Some of the hesitation on offense had to do with the increased focus on ball security. Our 4 guards (Ames, Rodhe, McKneely, and Sharma) had a COMBINED total of 2 turnovers.

Got to watch some of the game on my phone between Christmas festivities today. It honestly had slipped my mind we even played today⌠donât think thatâs ever happened. Ew.
But anyways. Multiple things going against the team today all in the headspace. 1 itâs Christmas and break time. Getting some days off, Iâm sure everyone is looking forward to it. 2 there had to be some letdown from not getting the win earlier in the week. Really couldâve used that one and Iâm sure they know it.
Overall Iâm not taking anything too seriously from this one. We already knew this team would have its challenges, and weâve even seen some of the better UVA teams of the last decade struggle in games this time of year. Win and move on.
Overall season at this point I donât expect it but I feel like 13 ACC wins including beating Duke would put the Hoos around the bubble. Christmas time is the time of hope, what do you guys think it would take to get the Hoos in the convo?

Only 4 ACC teams are near locks (or at least solidly in) - Duke, UNC, Pitt and Clemson. We have Duke and Clemson at home, @ the other two.
Winning two of those would probably be the sweet spot given we have nothing to hang our hat on out of conference. Three other games (SMU at home, NC State at home and at Wake) may have some bubble value by the end.
Duke will hold the highest weight by a good amount- but 2/4 of the premier games, plus 13 wins is likely a âfirst fourâ resume.

Letâs just enjoy the little things.
Hope we can retain Cofie, Saunders, McKneely, Sharma and Gertrude with a new coach.
Bliss will never play a game for UVA.
