Am very nervous VT is going to run all over us. That young RB they’ve got is fast fast, and Drones may suck at a lot of things but he can run and is a big body. I’m sure we’re game planning for it but I’m so scarred by the past the I just assume they’re gonna run it down our throats.
I think the game may end up looking a lot like the Wake game unfortunately. Good news is we’ll have Chandler and that will get us over the line. Something like 24-21
Maybe in terms of Wake and VT both having dual threat QB’s that help open up their run game, but VT’s defense isn’t in the same stratosphere as Wake’s.

Wake might end up with 10 wins this season and should have beaten GT. In retrospect, that may well have been the toughest team on our schedule this season.

Sorry if discussed and I missed it, but the hoops team plays Dayton in Charlotte the same day as the ACC Championship. Do we think UVA will offer some sort of package deal on tickets for both games, if we beat VT?
Is there a downside in VT taking Chandler out of the game? Lame duck interim coach who isn’t really coaching for a job. Plenty of 5th year guys on defense getting ready to work for Enterprise.

If Miami over Pitt, UNC over NC State and Cal over SMU, then we make the ACCCG regardless of the result vs VT. That’s probably like a 30-1 parlay though.
I feel like that’s their MO annually. Maybe it was past players who were a-holes, but it wouldn’t surprise me if they come after him with the intent to injure.
I forgot about the Chad Morris watching his son trying to beat the team he used to coach in the ACCCG storyline.

If we keep Morris relatively clean I think we light it up on O. On D I think we can get away with bend don’t break given their weak passing game. More than anything we need to kick the hell out these guys and cap off a beautiful regular season. No more “10 wins OR beat VT” hypotheticals, get her done!!!

I prefer the “absolutely dominate their offense in every aspect of the game” strategy we employed against Duke over “bend but don’t break.”

They have some good running backs and Drones is a good runner but they have such little threat of a passing game that it will play into our favor. I also like our DL against their OL. We need to get them into obvious passing situations and let Melton Rickert and Camac eat. Drones is a bottom tier QB under pressure
Both teams are going to absolutely stack the box.
If we force them to execute on offense all the way down the field … VT will eventually make drive killing mistakes or we will turn them over. Just avoid the explosives.

I think they’re going to bring at least 5 almost every play. Need to be prepared.
Man VT’s receiving stats are incredibly bleak. 1 player with over 200 yards or 25 receptions (since Donovan Greene quit last week). Rud needs to dominate them.
